Thanks Kha-Khan, sort of what I was trying to express.

I still to this day figure that Hubbard only really believed his own crap when he was toally zoned (liek fucked outta his ever-lovin' mind, which was not infrequent imho), the rest of the time he was fashioning and integrating it into the over-all scam.

He had many things to consider, most of which was how to control the people he sucked in.
This has been looked at many times previously, many articles, many threads here.
