Re: Lisa McPherson Anniversary
I approve of this idea, too.
For those of you who haven't been here since the beginning---Anonymous first global protest was held on Feb. 10, 2008 in honor of Lisa McPherson and everyone listed on the pages of whyaretheydead. TA /salute |

Re: Lisa McPherson Anniversary
I think a candlelight vigil is good for Dec. 5. When we did our first "big" protest in Clearwater in 1996 we did it on Hubbard's birthday in March. But then when we heard about Lisa McPherson we switched to the weekend closest to Dec. 5. We'd protest during the day and have a candlelight vigil at night. Many more public would come out to the vigil than the protest. We had up to 150 at the vigil but only maxed at 45 for the protests.
YouTube - Candlelight vigil in honor of Lisa McPherson, Dec. 1997 is from 1997 Candlelight Vigil in honor of Lisa McPherson, 1999, Clearwater, FL on Vimeo is from 1999 We'd send out press releases and just generally try to get the media interested. And it was in memory of Lisa McPherson, but also all those others who died at the hands of Scientology. Since it was a vigil and not a protest, we did not have signs, but I would think photos of the dead would be good. You can get candles and those paper wax catcher discs pretty cheap at a Catholic of Christian book store. |
