December 5th is the 13th Anniversary of the murder of Lisa McPherson by the “church” of Scientology. She would have been 49.
After being locked alone in a room and denied food, water, and human contact for 17 days, her body eventually expired.
I've just uploaded a video as a tribute to her life (which) contains no autopsy photographs) but I think that a mini protest might be appropriate on this day.

we are planning on having a candlelight vigil on the 5th(full srs bzns mode), it just so happens that it is also the day of the monthly art walk downtown too. So they will be curious why we are not our standard party mode while protesting.

I think a candlelight vigil is good for Dec. 5. When we did our first "big" protest in Clearwater in 1996 we did it on Hubbard's birthday in March. But then when we heard about Lisa McPherson we switched to the weekend closest to Dec. 5. We'd protest during the day and have a candlelight vigil at night. Many more public would come out to the vigil than the protest. We had up to 150 at the vigil but only maxed at 45 for the protests.

We'd send out press releases and just generally try to get the media interested. And it was in memory of Lisa McPherson, but also all those others who died at the hands of Scientology. Since it was a vigil and not a protest, we did not have signs, but I would think photos of the dead would be good.

You can get candles and those paper wax catcher discs pretty cheap at a Catholic of Christian book store.
