On January 26th, Sydney Anonymous caught wind of the Drug Free Ambassadors coming out on Australia Day. Knowing that they'd not be exactly honest with the general public with whom they really represent, a small group was quickly formed; and a plan hatched to ensure that the fair people of Sydney out and about celebrating Australia Day would be well informed.

Unknown to the Organization of Scientology, we also had a copy of their permit for the day (Freedom of Information Act, it's a beautiful thing.. though don't ask Cyrus Brooks to explain it to you, he's very confused by the concept) With the permit in hand we knew exactly what they could and could not do in regards to the distribution of Drug Free Ambassador pamphlets.

We reached our agreed meeting place, went over our plan, and then moved to the location. They were definitely not expecting us :D



As you can see from the footage in the first clip, Cyrus wanted to speak with me. This was mostly in regards to an incident a few weeks earlier during one of my solo raids outside ANZO, where a female SO staff member claimed I had "harassed & intimidated" her, shoved my camera in her face and blocked her path. Truth of the matter was, I was across the road from her and had simply spoken to her about the authority of her uniform and it having no impact in the real world. Short of the long; Cyrus was concerned I was still a little pissed off about the incident (funny that, when the police arrive and instantly threaten you for arrest over something you didn't do, yes one does get a little pissy)

I explained to Cyrus that next time one of the SO staff members feels that way, perhaps coming across the road, starting a conversation with me etc would assist in removing any MUs..

Once that was settled I informed Cyrus the reason for us being there.

1) Observe and ensure that no permit violations were taking place, and if so, report them as necessary to the Council City Rangers (these people enforce the permits and have the power to shut down a stall not complying)

2) Educate and inform the general public that the Drug Free Ambassadors were part of The Church Of Scientology.

Our intention was not to intervene in any way whatsoever with the DFA's distributing the pamphlets; but definitely to give the members of the public who were handed one some information on who the individuals are, and most importantly, the Organization behind it. Cyrus was very interested in why I was bringing up in conversation the clauses in their permit and how they will need to abide by them, or risk being shut down for violation. Per his request, I happily showed him our copy of their permit and explained how it was obtained through The Freedom of Information Act. Cyrus seemed not entirely convinced and then was more interested in the fact that our conversation was being recorded by another Anon. After some back and forth over this, he surprised us all by offering to get a photo taken with me. Amusingly, when the suggestion of us hugging was given he actually made a comment along the lines of "No no, no hugging.. I saw what happened last time.."

I asked Cyrus after the photo if that quip was in regards to Mark Hanna, which of course it was. This gave a good opportunity to ask him about the incident. Cyrus og course denied any knowledge, but did mention that he "heard" that Hanna was in the carpark above us prior to the incident and had heard his name in some conversation between some Anons. Grain of salt.

TL;DR - Short of the Long - DFA violated the agreements of their allocated permit (by distributing DFA pamphlets outside of the allocated location as stated in the permit) - all violations were caught on video/photographed & City Rangers were called onsite and arrived. DFA shut down 15 minutes after they left, 2 hours before the permit time was up.

I hope you guys don't mind, but I'm going to finish the rest of the WOT tomorrow when I'm not falling asleep at the keyboard. I just at least wanted to get some done tonight and have the videos made available for you all to enjoy.

Now this was a fabulous interaction, with Sydanons at their best. Glad to see Malcolm is back on the horse, so to speak.

I couldn't help but notice how the DFA shirts coordinated with the portaloos across the street. Nice touch.



Srsly, though, I give Cyrus one brownie point for the joke. Well done, sir. And portaloos aside, the shirts are very effective. You know that we wouldn't have any issue with the Drug Free Ambassadors if you guys were just honest about your religious affiliation and those of your "experts. People deserve to be able to make a free and informed decision, not find out later they landed in the middle of Scientology without realising it.

But Sydanons - sensational stuff. Loved the polite interactions with the DFA's. Thing of beauty.

WOT contd.

Perhaps not so much a WOT this time around though, but some key points on some events that took place (and photo goodness)

Once we started interacting with members of the public who had just been handed a DFA pamphlet (ie: "Excuse me, just to let you know, that booklet is from The Church of Scientology. And those individuals are Scientologists.") Cyrus began to give instructions to the ambassadors, namely to move down from the trestle table & away from us. We countered this by splitting up our group and moving down also, this way we had a group on both sides of the area to ensure every individual handed a pamphlet could be interacted with.

That's when Cyrus made a grave error - he gave more instructions to the ambassadors, to move away from the allocated area. If you refer back to the permit in the OP you can clearly see the following paragraph:

"It should be noted that this approval letter is only for the conduct of stress tests and handing out information leaflets in the above mentioned locations"

In other words, the handing out of pamphlets in any area aside from the one stated on the first page of the permit, is a violation. Expecting that they'd attempt this, anons followed the ambassadors & caught them on video. Not only once, but several times. Even going as far to give them a warning. I also did this with Cyrus back at the stall location. He and the ambassadors couldn't seem to grasp the concept, so I called in the City Rangers.

Three calls were made over the duration of a few hours, in order to ensure that the reports were correctly captured onto the system at the time that the violation(s) were occurring.

Cyrus's friendly attitude towards me quickly changed once he realized the impact & success we were having with the general public & capturing of violations/reports being made to the City Rangers. I can understand him getting pissed off, but what I can't understand is the fact that I actually gave him a fighting chance at the beginning. Told him exactly what we were there for and what we would be watching for. But he went right ahead and violated the terms of the permit regardless. And he gets angry at me?! because of it.

Like I told you on the day Cyrus, all is fair in love and war.

This is Jeronimo, a sydanon, having a civil conversation with who we've determined to be very fresh meat to the local clam population. Jer was making great progress but unfortunately the commline was cut by Cyrus claiming "harassment" once again.


The photo taken during our initial conversation where I laid out "the rules of engagement" to Cyrus. Interestingly, the Church of Scientology made a call to the Sydney City Council the morning after the raid, citing harassment by me, informing the Council that the police would be notified & my details sought. Yet, here is Cyrus and I posing for a photo on the day. Go figure.

This is the DFA pledge - totally devoid of any signatures. This pledge also served as the sign, on the other side. The sign was displayed for awhile but ended up spending most of the day sitting under the trestle table. A pile of DFA certificates also spent all day sitting undisturbed on the table.
