(323) 899-1034 --- Research & Discovery Volume 9: The Whole Track Unfolds The very first lectures on Scientology as a subject, Ron covers many initial breakthroughs in his whole track research and explains the conditions we find ourselves in here on planet Earth. Contains thirty-five lectures given between January 1st and March 7th 1952. -------------------------------- The undoing of the black enchantment An article by L. Ron Hubbard from R&D Volume 9 -------------------------------- "Well, that's what has happened, approximately, to this degree: a black enchantment has obviously been laid across man, who, natively, has every potential for good, for constructive action. "But how would you keep a people from realizing it? You'd divide them within themselves. You would teach them that they had - could know only law. That they were incapable of assuming full responsibility, that they were not to meet in groups or perform various actions, and that they could not unite in a single effort forward toward the conquest of the material universe. And that was what we were told, evidently. And man has been living up to it very well ever since. ... "Here was your fear of death. Here was your shut-off of knowledge of past lives. Here is your fear, and here is incompetence... "Oddly enough, evidently, the only reason I went on and invented Dianetics was because, to get me, they had to pull me out of the brush with both feet flailing; and my intention as I went into it was something quite beyond them, and that is 'Someday I'll get even with you bastards and find out. And the rest of the people you're doing this to are going to be undone.' And evidently this is almost very close to mission accomplished." - LRH Excerpted from the lecture "Discovery of Facsimile One", on page 562 in R&D Volume 9. -------------------------------- What's in R&D Volume 9? -------------------------------- The premier lecture entitled, "Scientology: Milestone One", is THE lecture where LRH explains Scientology in depth for the first time. As he told them, "And you don't know the history of your own race, and you don't know why you're here, and you don't know why you're not free, and you don't know why you have a left side and a right side - at this moment you don't know..." - LRH In this lecture, starting on page 444, LRH gives the answers! -------------------------------- FACSIMILE ONE -------------------------------- Shortly after he wrote Dianetics in 1950, LRH discovered the existence of past lives. For some reason, the subject was very upsetting to some people. There were even those who insisted that LRH never mention before-this-lifetime track, and demanded he discontinue his research into the area. No doubt you know people right now with the same malady. In any event, LRH found that flatly, pcs did not recover unless the auditor addressed these past life incidents; and moreover; the greatest gains were made in Tone Level when such engrams were accepted and run by the auditor! Finally, and the real reason some people didn't want the truth to be known, IMPLANTS! Specifically, one vicious electronic implant, called Facsimile One, which is common to all preclears. Facsimile One is nothing, if not one of the most blood-chilling incidents on your whole track. And when you learn the description of this incident, you will understand why people don't want to know they know! Read all about it, starting on page 553... -------------------------------- FEARLESSNESS AND HONOR -------------------------------- In the days of old, there was much to be said on the subject of honor. Yet they didn't even know what it was. To have honor is to posses one's own integrity, a possession more valuable than one's own immediate body. A man who has lost his honor is worse than dead. In the R&D 9, LRH explains why this is, and defines the subject of honor. For example, page 398 LRH says: "The truth of the matter is it's better to die - to die horribly, over a long period of time - in the long run, than to traffic in any way with compromises which are against honor. Now, that's a funny thing. But it's better to die than do it. And the only times you've ever gotten into trouble anywhere along the line is because you compromised." - LRH In this volume, LRH gives the Code of Honor, here called The Code of Behavior. Understanding the basic need of every individual to know and apply the Code of Honor is a vital ingredient to bring sanity, creativity and a spirit of play into the everyday environment and the lives of friends and associates. As LRH said, "The test of this code is that it's a therapy because every time and every place it has been violated is a lock or an aberration on the individual." Learn all about it on page 371. -------------------------------- MYSTICISM -------------------------------- Read this one-of-a-kind lecture, given on 2 February 1952, where LRH gives a history of his research into the subjects of mysticism and metaphysics, or as LRH put it himself: "I want to talk to you a little bit about metaphysics, mysticism and so on, and give you some of the history of this subject. This comes up almost continually in this school and as a result, we ought to have a little understanding of it." - LRH What is the one big difference between other bodies of knowledge in other fields and Dianetics and Scientology? Well, as LRH put it himself: "The Chinese - for instance, the lamas of the Western Hills can tell you more wisdom that sounds like good wisdom in three minutes than I could tell you in years. And there they sit in their rags, with the lice running through the creases in the robes, starving to death, overrun by bandits, shot, burned, living lives of agony, degenerating century by century lower and lower and lower, and getting, by the way, unhappier and unhappier. But they know the answers - they say. I'm perfectly willing they know the answers. I want to USE answers, not know them. Thank you for these! I think that there may be newer or additional versions of these R&D vols, as the email doesn't really track content/volume/page wise with these R&Ds.
However, the spew on these earlier tapes is priceless in oh so many ways. (Not in a buy a bridge sort of way, however...) |
