I highly disagree with that statement.

Maybe this isn't that important or won't have that big of an effect, but there is absolutely no reason not to leak it. Every single thing leaked about Scientology being twisted needs to be leaked.
And this is certainly a very twisted thing, whether or not it was a "joke".

Your right 50 years does not make a difference in the big picture. However 50 years and no actions to point to and say "HERE" does work in their favor. As does their effort to distance themselves from the policy. Just because Jews are told to stone people in the bible / tora does not mean that it is acceptable, Many real religions believe in "honor killings". It does not make CoS a "REAL" religion but the rule also applies to them.

I also agree that "the truth is bad enough" and does not need additions however there are certain people and groups out there that are so determined to bring down the cult and feel that the cult is always buying their way out of trouble in one way or another can get frustrated and believe that an "Ace up the sleeve" is better than "Dox on the table". These people have had lies manufactured against them they believe that "turn-about is fair play" (did I get that expression right ?)

To describe what makes them falsify dox could take up another thread but it basically boils down to 'insanity and/or ego.' If I knew the source of the dox and who has been holding onto them for 40 years I might feel more confident than my 65% or if I knew of more than one copy of Auditor #37 and how the magazine was distributed.

Well I I do agree that some information is more important to have out there than other information but that was not my point.

My point is that this information is already out there. (and nobody cares) I think it is an interesting bit of trivia. But it is out there and has been out there for at least 20 years if not from the day the magazine was published.

In my above response I talked about "real" religions that have honor killings.

I think this information should be preserved unless it is proven false until there is a critic or SP that turns up that has been R2-45'd. Or at least until we have information that R2-45 is being planned. Scientology thinks it is a government and it has likely written "laws" to be followed to protect it's self as a government.

I am unconvinced but am operating under the assumption that Auditor 37 is real.

The doc's I have seen could be very easily faked w/ 1980's technology. It is also the type of thing that certain critics of CoS (who will remain nameless) would fake. I don't want to accuse anyone because I don't know who is responsible for the magazine being leaked. I am also ready to stand corrected if the magazine has been scanned or produced as evidence by more than one person that got it from more than one source.

The simple fact that these dox exist (assuming they are real) is an embarrassment to the CoS. But as I keep stating I don't know of any way to use them to our advantage. And have stated I am open to hearing suggestions.

It is true that one cannot automatically assume that every policy is put into practice, but there is the entire system of ethics officers and the stress on verbatim execution of policies as is demonstrated in practices such as "word clearing" or the existence of collections of definitions such as "administrative dictionary".

And imo the point is that Hubbard even stated such a thing in the first place and that this is clearly in contrast to the image Scientology likes to paint of him as a humanitarian. Suppose it was a joke- what does this say about Hubbard as a human being?

@OP: I have video taken in Clearwater three days ago of Peter Mansell saying that R2-45 was originally a joke, but that Hubbard would not have written a joke into an ethics order. Don't know if you might want this video, but if you do, let me know, and I'll try to get it to you ASAP.
