I am writing this quick note out of concern over the new, improved Ordinance 884 being resubmitted by Supervisor Jeff Stone.

I am concerned because Mr. Stone's recent behavior suggests he is working to benefit the cult of Scientology and attempting to quash our first amendment right to protest there.

We are human rights activists. Mr. Stone was quoted in the Riverside PE as calling us 'hatemongers.' He also distributed disgusting, racist fliers and attributed them to our group. These same fliers are distributed by the "Church" of Scientology as "proof" of our bigotry.
Those aren't our fliers. I was present at the last picket of Golden Era and we were only holding signs, not handing out any sort of fliers. Mr. Stone is not acting in an impartial manner. Indeed, his behavior mirrors that of the Scientology organization, which also calls us "hatemongers," among other things.

Setting a 50 ft. limit and imposing an arrest threat for a misdemeanor will be sufficient to deny us the right to protest the documented human rights violations that occur behind the razor wire at Golden Era Productions. The next time you're on 79, pull in by the guard shack and look at the fence. There is razor wire on the inside.

Furthermore, during pickets, the Scientologists fire up speakers, blaring a sound at 110 decibels, a level which can permanently harm one's ears. The police do nothing about it, although it could easily be a road hazard as drivers look around to see where the noise is coming from.

This ordinance is not about picketing residences and disrupting neighborhoods. It is a covert end run to shut down demonstrations at Golden Era Productions, which will figure out a way to get the whole base declared "residential."

In the videos that have been posted online, you can clearly hear that horrible sound blasted by speakers along the fence at Golden Era. I am sure that noise is more disruptive than a handful of people with picket signs!

I note that they claim to be reducing the zone of picket prohibition. Considering that this ordinance is intended to aid the cult, that's just not true. I haven't taken a look at a map and measured out the area, but I'm pretty sure that if you take 300 feet from the "residences," i.e. dorms and the dwarf's mansion, as in the original ordinance, that this might not even extend to the highway. However, if you take 50 feet from the PROPERTY LINE, as the cult lawyers have done, or okay, let's pretend Jeff Stone came up with this on his own, you have a vast area in which picketing is prohibited.

This is basically a con job. It's been made, IMO (and I haven't done the math on this), even more hostile to picketers at Gold. While it would be more reasonable in the typical anti-residential picketing scenarios, i.e. real homes on normal lots, if you apply this same language to Gold, you end up with any protesters IMO forced to the other side of the highway and, perhaps, even into unwalkable areas.

Someone with a good grasp of cartography should figure out what's prohibited under the old language as compared to the new language.

Also, I notice the only other thing on the policy agenda from cult whore Stone is something about beetles. Does Stone actually do anything besides suck cult cock? I hope someone is opposing him in the next election.

Residential Dwelling is defined as "any permanent building being used by its occupants solely for non-transient residential uses". (emp added.)

(But it doesn't seem to define residential uses.)

BTW, 888 is a very lucky number for Chinese and Scilons.

just a thought - but seems to me this situation w/ riverside is escalating to the point of needing a new breed of poon. maybe a small ad of some sort placed in this coming sunday paper that would roust irate residents to possibly show up the 6th?

how awesome wuld it be for a few joe blow citizens to speak up to the supervisors w/ their own complaints of living next to the cult's compound in the context of "i for one support the picketers at gold, and hope they continue"

Yes, the cult is trying to sneak this through. Vigilance is required, and good work has been done by those who have been monitoring this issue.

Key phrases in the revised language, are the "50 foot" description (from property lines) and the use of the term "sidewalk".

Issues that need clarification would be: Does this "50 foot" setback, apply to ALL property lines (of the picketed person or organization)? If so, that could push picketers hundreds of yards or more up a road, from where actual "residence" is. (See reference map from the Riverside County Planning Department, with "approximate" property lines shown, below)

The term "sidewalk" needs to be changed, to something like "public access easement area," as there are numerous roads in rural areas of Riverside County that do not have a constructed "sidewalk".

The parcels which could be said to hold residences, are the 2 "diagonal" boundaries which surround the highway (not the "K" shaped one, nor the one above the "K" shaped parcel).

The impact of the proposed language, would effectively block protests along the entire length of the cult's properties on the side of Highway 79, except for 50 feet beyond their furthest edges.

Apparently, someone worked overtime, to come up with language that would have this sort of impact. Now we know, why DM (apparently) missed the New Year's event. But why is Jeff Stone pushing this? Has Jeff Stone been blackmailed?

Stone is a lost cause, we need to send the harpoons to the other three supervisors. If you just get one more person in addition to Buster to vote NO, then you stopped the measure. So man the harpoons already... Better yet, do like the people who opposed the bailout, TIE UP THE PHONES

Riverside County has poor use of the internet so we have to do it the old fashioned way by phoning.. Use skype if you have to!!
