I've been told by (non-Chanology) activists who consume and utilize the PE,
that they DO print a substantial portion of "letters to the editor" so long as they are
reasonably well-written and making a point that hasn't been beaten to death of late.

It's probably not the most effective avenue; but if anons (more than one) write succinct and clear *snailmail* harpoons to the paper, in response to and on-topic of *articles they printed*, there is a good chance at least one of them will make it into a print edition.

At least, once in awhile.
If *ZERO* anonygrams get through, and pro-CoS ones are printed, probably fair to imagine the paper's been compromised.

What (non-chanology) activists tell me: they can usually get their point across, and get it acknowledged in print. It sometimes takes a few tries. Even for activities/causes/crusades that are otherwise unpopular in the Riverside area.

I'll try and see if I can get more substantial advises on how to make PE werk.

The Intarweb PE reaches people everywhere, but probably "high information" more than low-info types.
The Dead Tree PE reaches old people mostly just in Riverside, probably lower-info demographic. Less likely to liek Anonymous, but in moar desperate need of our halp.

Would it be legal and constructive to post a YouTube video of Jeff Stone's December 9 presentation on Anonymous as a hate group, along with a link to Jeff Jacobsen's political science paper on Anonymous?

At the Supervisors of Riverside County meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 an “Ordinance No. 888 is proposed as an urgency ordinance regulating targeted residential picketing to take effect immediately. This urgency ordinance is necessary to protect the right of privacy and the feeling of well-being and tranquility which members of the community should enjoy in their dwellings. … targeted residential picketing causes emotional disturbance and distress...” Supervisor Jeff Stone is doing the cults bidding on this particular public fraud.

Who stands with us for the first of our freedom fights of 2009? It is the eve of the first anniversary of the Internet release of the Tom Cruise recruiting video and Andrew Morton’s biography of Tom Cruise. And so I am reminded of Team America Gary’s “dicks, pussies, and assholes” speech:

I am now preparing my own open letter to the Riverside Board of Supervisors regarding this latest corruption of the democratic process by David Miscavige and the totalitarian political movement, multi-level marketing scheme and racketeering enterprise masquerading as the churches and corporations of Scientology. I shall post it here later this weekend along with a request for the active support of each of you.

Let 2009 be the year we take down Scientology’s Department 20, it’s Office of Special Affairs. Remove Scientology’s fangs, claws, crime and corruption.

I think this is an issue where less is more. I think the critical thing to demonstrate here is that while the new proposed language appears, on the surface, to address the constitutional concerns of the members who shot down the last version of this ordinance, and the new language more closely tracks the relevant case law, it in fact is actually worse in terms of unconstitutionally suppressing protests at Gold Base.

I am pretty certain, although I have not personally drawn the map on this, that an area 300 feet from anything that can be classified as residential on the Gold Base property covers a lot less ground than the new language does, which would prohibit picketing in an area 50 feet from the entire property line. In fact, the new language would allow a corporation that wanted to stop protesting to simply buy a huge property, put a shack on it, put an idiot in that shack, and thus block protesting 50 feet from anywhere on the property line by claiming that the protests were targeted at the shack-dwelling imbecile.

If someone created a nice, brightly colored visual depiction of the legal implications of this new language, I think it might defeat this ordinance. I don't think Stone has much support for this bullshit, and he'd have even less if his boondoggle was exposed.

Obtaining property lines, of properties at Gold Base and in the surrounding area, is easy:

Go online to: Property Information Center

Click "accept" button

Enter "Assessor Parcel Number"
(This is a unique 9-digit code for each property).

Examples of "APN" numbers at Gold Base include:
430150013 (which is just South of Highway 79)
430150014 (which is just North of Highway 79, and includes many buildings
that are stated to be in use as residences).

View the "page" from Riverside County records online. (You could print out,
and paste together these pages, if you want to do a wider look at property
boundaries in this area).

There are many lots owned by Scientology in this area (many are held by their subsidiary "Building Management Services"), such as 430150001 (looks like the
letter "K") and 430140008 (which is to the North of the "K" shaped lot).

If you want, you can search online, to identify all the APN's held in this area,
if you work with the APN format: First three numbers are the "book" number,
the next three numbers are the "page" number, and the last three numbers
identify a particular lot.

and maybe also within pages 002, 003, 004, 019 of that same book number.

If the board of supervisors really is concerned about "public safety", they should adopt a law that is already on the books in New Jersey:

"No barbed wire fence or other fence or wall having barbed or sharp projections facing outward, or otherwise endangering the traveling public, shall be permitted adjacent to or along the line of any street or public place."

I know, the barbed wire and fence points are INSIDE the fence of Gold Base. But still, Co$ would have to say at the meeting that they are exempt from the law because their barbed wire is on the inside of their property.

In that case, make a point #2:

What do protestors gain by going to Gold in person? Maybe a local protest pointing out the infringement of constitutional rights would reach more people.

Can we enturbulate little Miss Coleslaw in some other way?

How about virtual picketing based on IRL information? Lots of people who visit this site don't know where Gold is, what is there and so on but it's all on Google Earth, even on WWP, if you can find it. Could we set up a permanent thread targetting all CoS properties world-wide? Airstrips, vaults, villas, car parks, Ron Hubbard's WELCOME BACK home. Could celebrity homes be included or is that too personal? Give links. And when we're at it, add in what can be gleaned from flightaware.com about their comings and goings.

Certainly you must realize that the Church of Scientology will do everything and anything to stop anonymous. 'creating" false documents and other written material ( i,e,fliers) and then attributing them to those who dare to reveal their crimes is their method of operation! (fairgaming!) The best way to counter this is to inform the public ahead of time what they are going to do and then point out the falsehoods and lies, while they are doing it! If Scientology wants to tie themselves to a description of "gold base" as a "residence", then they should be held to that.

I mean, scour the regs and find every little law or ordinance pertaining to residential areas, and see if the "compound" follows those.

The first time they say "that doesn't apply to us here", then let the board know that.

Things such as residential noise laws, taxation as a residence and not a church or business, types of fencing, landscaping - everything the owner of a normal "residence" must obey.
