The Charity: "Love for Autism Association," has teamed up with The Entertainment Development Association to host the Official 2nd Annual 2010 CuteKidz Spring Fashion Event!

Los Angeles, California- The official 2nd annual 2010 CuteKidz Spring Fashion event will showcase some of the most adorable children from 5 years to 9 years in Southern California! This event will also showcase the most talented up and coming children's Designers. Bobbi Bell Top Runway instructor in the country will be coordinating this fabulous event! This is an event you don't want to miss!

Portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit 501(c)3 nonprofit organization: "Love for Autism Association." Carrie Lopez who is the founder, as well as, the mother of a son who has autism. Carrie quoted, "As a parent who sees the world with limited treatments and resources for families that are affected by autism and controlled by the daily needs of their children. Families have to search for the answers when handed a diagnosis." They are alone and usually left with the financial burden. We help families affected by autism, receive the care they need. Furthermore, educating the community about the serious matter of Autism.

Nicole Glenn, CEO of the Entertainment Development Association has quoted, "This event is a collaboration." It shows what can be accomplished when two sectors join forces for the greater good.

CCHR has tried to portray autism (presumably the entire spectrum, including aspies) as a physical disorder. I assume they're doing that to try to disempower psychology and psychiatry. Were the world to agree with them, the DSM entries on the subject would have to be crossed out, and there would no longer be any way of diagnosing anyone as autistic, since (as I'm sure you know) there are no physical tests for autism.

One thing's clear, though... from the definition of "paranoid schizophrenia" in the glossary of DMSMH, they equate autism with daydreaming and hallucination, so they absolutely do not know WTF they're talking about.

"love for autism association" site:wrongplanet.net

gives me zero hits. I find that very odd, since wrongplanet.net is a forum relating to autism (and asperger's in particular), with thousands of people posting on all sorts of autism-related topics. I suspect that LFAA are a very new group.
