We had some new on Kasakhstan earlier, but not that one:

As Newspaper "Kasakhstan Today" reported on the 8th of October: The leaders of the COS in Kasakhstan are facing trial, started by the Commitee of National Security.

For the crimes that are filed under "section 190" of the "Criminal Codex" they are facing up to 5 years of imprisonment.

"According to the investigation, members of the organisation were engaging themselves in unlicensed educational and medical activities, and getting a substantial profit, which is currently non-taxable", - reported the press-service.

Today, with the approval of the head prosecutor of City of Almaty they carried out "searches" in all of the known properties of COS.
Found and confiscated a large number of files and archives containing personal information of confidential nature liked to people who are connected to the church in any way, as well as imported "Medicine" which was illegally brought into the country and was not approved by Kasakhstan government.
Experts concluded that using those drugs can cause serious damage and health problems.

According to the DNKB (kinda like the kasakh fbi) they sent all the financial records of COS to experts in order to estimate the damage made to the state.

The fun will proceed in court after experts finish.

But the shitstorm stirred up some old stories, like the one about a group of kids that reached "clear" and since they were sure they are better beings now, they stopped eating and drinking. Cause they thought they wont need it anymore.

1 year in Russian or Kazakhstan jail is like 5 or 10 in european one.
They wont have fun.

Head of russian church is bff of Putin, and he is not amused.
So I personally think that cos-ru shud heavily work on making themselves invisible for the next 4-8 years.


(btw. last week I got a "blessing" from our local priest and also some higher standing ppl to write about cos in a ROK newspaper. The newspaper will come out next month, or most probably i will ask them to print it in november or so. Cause then one of the major church events will start, and this will increase newspaper sales like 25-30%)

Keep watching in Kazakhstan. We have two "do not want" scenarios here:
- Scientology worming its way out of this
- Legitimate religions being attacked along with Scientology

Of course, in the short term, the Kazakhs are better off with the second but it could lead to fail such as the US state department (Foggy Bottom) working to promote Scientology again as they did under Clinton.
