This has probably been asked already..... but any link AT ALL with Ahern and COS ?
Government stepping in to determine what is libel blasphemous against a religion? What will be next that they will be able to determine? I think this will meet some crazy opposition, and wil not pass. "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." I doubt it. Bertie has always been a bit of an anti-secularist, and combined with recently courting investments from the Saudi’s the timing makes sense.

"THE MAIN churches were not consulted about the proposal to define the offence of blasphemous libel in the Defamation Act, The Irish Times has learned."

Re: Irish Times: Defamation Bill Amendment. "blasphemous libel". Anonymous/Co$ exampl
So I suppose if they allow this stupid law through we won't be allowed to watch these things again since they would probably be banned again. Since they are considered blasphemous.
And what would happen if some poor sap was walking by a Guard and swore by using Jesus in a profanity or Mohammed, would the Guard need to step in and fine him? WHat if I was to where this t-shirt and somebody found it offensive, what would happen to me than? Would they drag me into the courts or fine me? ![]() Ohh and Tommy Tiernon would seriously be fucked. Even Father Ted might need to sent packing as well.
