Okay, update:

It's on at 11pm TOMORROW.

Current time here is 11:53pm (which is +10 GMT, or 16 hours ahead of central U.S. time), so it *should* be going to air in, like, 23 hours from now.

Thus far, we've been having probs with the web-streaming, so hopefully that can be rectified by tomorrow, as I haven't been able to pick the station up on my actual radio (so headphone jack to compy isn't even an option).

Anyway we'll keep you guys posted.

The interview just finished.
Firstly, I commend the Melbourne guys for giving it their best. Clearly nervy for them, and I understand that the three involved hadn't spoken under those pressures before.

They talked about OT, Xenu, Tom Cruise jumping on couches and other "lulzy" crap that's really unimportant. Unfortunately, they did not talk about forced abortions in the Sea Org, disconnection, fair game, illegal imprisonment, Lisa McPherson or anything of any particular importance. There was not a single proper LRH quote, or quote from any authority or former Scientologist used.

The interview was a complete shambles with the presenters seeming to have absolutely no background knowledge and seeming to think that they were getting a huge secret revealed re: Xenu and OT powers and such. However, the presenters can't be blamed, they gave the Anons opportunities to speak about the real issues and these weren't seized well at all.

The one real issue that was brought up was Paul Schofield's situation, and I thought I was finally going to hear something decent but unfortunately it was completely underdone and the Anons did not go into any depth about the problems therein.

This was, all in all, an awful interview. The Melbourne Anons came across completely unprepared, largely ill-informed and unwilling to actually steer the interview. As "experts" on a subject, when being interviewed by a layperson, it is your job to take control and explain what is truly important and guide the interview.

The radio hosts said they will be happy to have the Anons back, and so I really hope they go back better prepared and willing to talk about serious issues.

I wish I was able to make it to the interview, as I was going to be there as well. I'm not sure if I would have helped make it any better, (I'm sure I wouldn't have) however, I would have tried to help steer it that way. Next time though, I'll try to go to the interview, and hopefully, we all will be able to do a better job.

When SirAnon, Stroyer and I were interviewed by the Age, we were able to steer the interview towards what we wished to discuss, however, we were being interviewed by the Religion Editor for the Age, and thus he was more informed than the presenters of The Dark Star (the radio program nex, siranon and el diablo were interviewed by). So I'm sure that having an interviewer with knowledge on the issue helped, as well as the fact that we were given more room to move than these radio interviewers gave Nex, El Diablo and SirAnon this time.

I must say though, this is the first radio interview Melbanon has done in quite a while, and these guys did really well for newbs at radio interviewing. The old interviews were terrible (done back in early 2008), and if you listened to them (if we still had them) you'd see this one went 100x better).
We can't blame them for the interview going badly or not, not everything ends up successful.

They did good for what they were given, and I commend them for their dedication. And personally, I think the interview was pretty good, though the presenters did seem to keep cutting them off and changing topic all too quickly.
