SAN DIEGO - Former Massachusetts Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney throws his support behind Jeff Stone for State Senate.

"Jeff Stone is a solid conservative with a spotless reputation for honesty, integrity and the highest ethical standards," said former Governor Romney. "He's a proven leader, with an established record for fighting taxes and cutting government waste. Sacramento needs leaders like Jeff Stone to put California back on track and restore trust in our government."

"I'm extremely honored and humbled by Mr. Romney's endorsement," said Stone. "He's a great and honorable Republican with strong conservative values. His support means a great deal to me personally and will certainly give a boost to our campaign efforts."

As a statewide leader against taxes, Jeff Stone chaired the NoWay1A campaign to defeat Proposition 1A in May's special election - an initiative that would have increased taxes on families by $16 billion and done nothing to stop runaway government spending. Stone is also the chairman of Reclaim California, a group fighting government waste, fraud and abuse.
