Operation: Anon Toy Soldiers!

Focus: To draw attention to the children in Scientology. How their childhood is forfeited for the cults goals and how the COS views them as simply 'tiny adults' and how they are denied proper love, nurturing and fun. It could also focus on the importance of family at this time of year. When was the last time those people inside went to spend the Holidays with their family? Or called their parents to wish them a Merry Christmas?

Idea: Seriously who doesn't love toys? (unless you're some kinda weirdo!)

The idea is this.

At the big December raid, Anons come dressed up as different toys! Imagine a bunch of toy soldiers with Guy Fawkes masks! Or something fun that kids can relate to and recognize. Dress up as something that could be a toy, like a doll or a stuffed animal. Maybe a Sesame Street character.

As an added bonus: Possibly bring/collect toys for the 'Toys For Tots' foundation (or whatever charity it is that collects toys for needy children in your area). I bet the Salvation Army would LOVE getting donations of toys from all over the country like this! (Also, I'm pretty certain that if we called and asked, they would send someone down from the SA who could supervise the collection and maybe get a tally of how many toys were donated in each location).

Lulz potential: Toys are fun and generally approachable. Scilons won't be able to do a damn thing about it. Can you imagine how hacked off the police would be if the Scilons called to complain that Anon's were making threats and when they showed up, it's a bunch of people dressed up in fun and friendly costumes collecting toys for a well-known and respected organization? If any cops were to doubt the typical Scilon sanity before, this would clinch it; the Scilons are freakin' NUTCASES!

Another bonus to consider: the media covering the protest would ask for an 'opinion' from the COS and anyone talking to the press will spin the whole 'They're terrorists! They're bigots and they threatened us BAWWW!!!' In the meantime they're watching the Anonymous 'terrorists' dancing around in toy soldier costumes, wishing everyone a 'Merry Christmas!' Happy Hannukkah!' and collecting toys for the Salvation Army.

If that image doesn't convince people that the COS is completely nuts, then nothing will.

Hmm, not in for the "dressing up as toy soldiers or plush-toys", but more for the santa-anon kind. ^^

But I like this idea! Giving out christmas candy/cookies and maybe even hot coacoa or tee? :) Would propably make more people stay around when the weather isn't so warm and have a little chat with us (or stay and protest).

if you set up at one's cell's normal protest location - then how would people know to show up with their toys???

a toy-drive like that would have to be advertised in advance somehow

If this becomes the decided theme and as soon as we get a December date (which we should decide soon to plan properly), Anon's will have to get in contact with charities like the Salvation Army and inform them of the plans. A face-to-face meeting could be required to let them know who we are, what we're doing and offer assurance that we are good guys. Ask if they can write up a letter to present to the police if there are questions. Perhaps one or two people from the SA would be willing to come down on the day of the protest to observe Anon's and supervise the collection (Imagine if a Marine showed up!)

Also, and this will be very important; Anon's who are police contacts MUST let the police know what Anon's are doing that day! They've moved protesters in the past and so they may be more willing to let you guys stick around in order for people who want to donate toys be able to find you. Plus I don't see cops being jerks about it, either.

As for advertising; we would need a flyer/poster that states clearly that Anon's are hosting a toy drive. States that we're doing it in HONOR of the children trapped in the COS and while we can't get to them right now, it's important to remember that there are still children in need that can be reached. Time and place, etc. People are particularly generous that time of year, so I don't think donations will be a big problem.

And unless there is someone from the charity RIGHT THERE, accepting cash donations = NO. It will look BAD and the COS will twist it! Also should be clarified in the adverts.

The posters for the drive should be posted the day after Thanksgiving. (EDIT: November 28th) Maybe local businesses will be willing to advertise the drive and put the posters up. What kind of person would say 'No' to a toydrive?

Oh, I LIKE this. Although we'd have to use pre-wrapped goodies (Little Debbies cakes, etc.) and EVERYONE loves candy canes! Maybe even Hanukkah gelt! Hot cocoa and tea maybe harder (don't want anyone claiming we 'poisoned' them!) but maybe in the places that will allow it a booth can be set up. The Salvation Army usually does stuff like that for their volunteers (do they still?) so anyone who meets with them should ask about the possibility of doing that.

Absolutely wonderful idea. Toy donations are good. Also, canned food donations are good. I agree we need to start spreading the word the day after Thanksgiving. Also, picking a nearby charity right away is good. It has happened that a school or something collects a lot of donations and has no place to take them!

Are there global, non-religious charities? I like religious charities like SALVATION Army, but that's just me. Do euro-fags have a Toys for Tots type of thing?

This idea is relevant to my interests.
