Edit: The post referenced below suggests that Costco gift cards would be Uber-Kewl, as they have gas and food in addition to office supplies. And they're practically everywhere in SoCal. BIG MOD EDIT: Please refer to this post on how to sent money to Graham without it getting into Moxon's tighty whities. Update 2: If Paypal or credit card is your preferred source to help cover his legal expenses, you can send money to the fund listed for Graham on the front page of WWP. We will be sending out regular US postal money orders to him when it hits $200. One will be sent off tomorrow since it is at $220. This money is of course meant to help cover the costs and expenses that he racks up doing all of the legal work he does. Quote:

Re: Graham Berry Fundraiser
A monthly contribution would be nice if people can afford it. Whether it is $5, $10, $20 or more, it all adds up. Do it!!
As was recently pointed out to me, if you mail a money order, use a POSTAL money order. They are cheaper and there is no fee to cash them. Money orders from Western Union (the type 7-11 stores sell) charge $10 just to cash it. Money orders are great because they are the safest way of donating. They are the most anonymous and if you send cash, it could easily be stolen. |

Re: Graham Berry Fundraiser
I don't want to slow down any generosity but I believe Graham apparently has legal impediments to accepting cash donations.
There's info here somewhere with the background and I don't want to misrepresent it. Could Graham perhaps clarify what procedure he can follow? EDIT: yes he can accept them, see Graham post 22 for options Last edited by anonymouskwisdg; 03-01-2009 at 11:07 AM.. Reason: correct the misinformation |

Re: Graham Berry Fundraiser
Wal-mart money orders are cheaper the post office if you have one near you. Paypal offers a debit card, international transactions, credit card payments..but there is a cost to receive...You can get an account that doesn't cost to receive but you are limited in the type of payments you can receive. Also, his account would be subject to hacking by OSA.

He should be able to represent AO and the Two Marks on a contingency basis if filing a case against Scientology under Tort Law. That doesn't take care of his living expenses until the case is settled, though. If he can't take cash...Go to Kmart or whoever else sells American Express cards and buy one with your credit card. I think 5.95 activation fee for $100. Some gas stations don't take American express gift cards...maybe all gas stations. I am not sure. Or buy a Wal-mart card. That takes care of everything if there is a Walmart around him that sells gas. Last edited by rummychick99; 03-01-2009 at 10:56 AM.. |

Re: Graham Berry Fundraiser
Yo, my cash is tied up right now getting things ready for our first protest, but next week, I should be good for a donation.
Another option for you guys is a Money Order. It's pretty much safer than sending cash because if it's filled out right, only Mr. Berry can cash it (with proof of I.D. and whatnot). The standard fee for a Money Order is only 69 cents so that's fairly cheap, plus the cost of a stamp. It isn't immediate, but it is safe. |

Re: Graham Berry Fundraiser
Getting something to him for the Tuesday Riverside Council meeting is time-sensitive of course, but he'll likely need a sustained effort after that to keep him able to stay active.

Re: Graham Berry Fundraiser
I can't do anything to help out immediately, but I will drop a giftcard in the mail for supplies by the end of next week.
Can Graham accept Walmart cards to use for food and/or supplies? Do Walmarts in CA have gas stations where he could also use that Walmart card? For those of us who don't live out there, being told his preferences for donations would be very helpful. |
