Gold Rule = 3 short paragraphs for a press release. It is easy to make the mistake of wanting to put in too much information (enthusiasm) ... but the reality is that if you dont use this format the chances are severely increased that it gets binned.. so please start using standard press conventions for press releases. for videos (ie creepy computer voice) 3 minutes is really the maximum for ADD reasons for video 3 short paragraphs top and tailed by you usual "Anon" stuff usually = 2:30- 3 mins

If press people want more information, they can contact us. We can also link to longer articles that are already published to keep the length down.

the last press release i read a few days back seemed ready to go , and now we see it went. I was under the impression it hadn't gone out from just following the script thread because the author had requested a hold, oh well :P

REGARDLESS - press releases shouldn't be way tl;dr or they get disregarded by recipients, but there may have been enough room to include this latest development. - only section that can be long on a press release is the final who is / moar info section which should always include the latest anon links.

To clarify a point that many tried hard not to get...

The original press strategy was to force Amazon and the Publisher to make statements of their own. The original strategy has now been 100% successful.

There may now be an opportunity to follow up, but I think the priority should be the video.

I agree with reznik that the more anon who inform themselves re how to effectively operate the media the better, but do not let this draw criticism away from some of those who have been most vocal (not in THIS thread) pretending they understand something when they do not. To those who do have an understanding, appreciate that you contribute most by trying to infuse the hive with your talents, not by trying to tell the hive it is doing it wrong, FFS!

A video is being produced based on the script below and is at final review stage but there's obviously nothing to prevent multiple videos being released. Delay has been introduced by checking facts and ensuring the content will not impact the book's authors. Completion within 24 hours is the target.

You're right. It probably is too long. Mutante: Is it too late to try for an editor's cut of the script/video, say another 24 hours to compare possible cuts and pick a winner? Better a bit late than a bit wank.
