Yes, it was mentioned earlier in this thread, too. At the March protest in Los Angeles, a man sort of "accidentally" flashed his firearm when walking around the crowd. The cops met up with him and he showed them his license to carry a weapon. He said he wasn't a Scientologist, and was just "looking for somebody." But we saw him when we changed locations to the Shrine Auditorium, where he was standing outside with the guards who were making sure that the people pulling into the parking lot were legit.

He also could have been one of the hired private investigators, he didn't seem like a Scientologist, anyway.

EDIT: The hired off-duty security cops are usually armed.

Yeah, I remember that guy -- but he didn't strike me as someone who would be regularly on-duty as a security weenie.

I'm interested in this because, as far as I've seen, their security goons (that regularly interface with the public) don't carry sidearms. This story makes it look like they DO have goons with sidearms readily available... even if they don't show them off publicly.

There's a secondary story here... about the kind of force they keep on hand, even if they try to keep it out of the public eye.

This is going to be an interesting story, no matter how it plays out.

Frankly, if someone with two swords came at me -- I wouldn't have to think too long before popping a couple of rounds into them either. In a situation like that, you don't shoot to wound. Actually, you NEVER shoot to wound. You double-tap the fucker center-mass (and do it again with a head shot) if it doesn't drop them.
