If so and there are concealed recordings being made of sound (or sound with vision) then it could be against the law to do that - also people that may have been recorded could make a request for the recording if you guys have those laws over there in Aus.

I can confirm this looks exactly like ordinary condensor mic. Excellent condition? This looks like it's been there some time, or humid air from vent next to it would deteriorate a mic in short order. Metal ring looks pitted, though, and this takes quite some time and not caused by humidity. Even the cables look like they've been exposed for quite a while.

And being installed on private property is one thing. But it's recording perimeter would be strong up to 4 feet, and muddy by 8 feet, but still all would be in Public area, not private. Hopefully police included it in their report. Sydney Morning Herald journalist should easily be able to access copy of police report to see if it is included, and if not, follow up interview to police and ask why not?

Media coverage on this will be epic. Hope ur next signs include: Did you know you've been recorded at this spot?
