I just spoke with HT. Moxon and Tommy boy are there, and they've already tried to shut the protest down. Considering that the DCanons took out a permit for the sidewalk today, this isn't going to happen. The police told the Scn's that yes, Anon is allowed to be there and protest today. They can't play loud music during the ceremony, though.

Stay tuned. We'll be in contact with HT all day. :) DC is doing it right, folks.

Travel Tips

Here are the details to help you to come to Washington, DC:

Address: Embassy Building – 1424 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036
Schedule: Reception Saturday:

L. Ron Hubbard House tours

The L. Ron Hubbard House Washington DC will be open for you to see our history by walking in LRH’s footsteps. This is the first Church of Scientology. LRH’s office on the second floor where he worked and researched is exactly as it was when he was here, even with the original items. You don’t want to miss this.

Dress Code: Saturday – business
Sunday – business casual

Weather in Washington DC: This is autumn and the weather changes daily from upper 70’s to low 40’s. We are predicting a beautiful crisp autumn afternoon but be prepared for showers.

How to get here:
Flights: There are 3 airports:

Reagan National Airport: 10 minutes from downtown DC. You can easily use the DC Metro to go to Dupont Circle or take a cab from this airport.

Dulles International Airport: 26 miles and about 40 mins from downtown DC. Plan on renting a car to get from this airport or take Super Shuttle to your hotel or the org. Taxi will run you about $75.

BWI Airport– 32 miles and about 60 mins from downtown DC but you can take the MARC train from the airport for about $6 or a taxi for about $75. The train will take you to Union Station and then you transfer to the Metro or taxi to get to the org.

Bus: NY, Boston and Philly are serviced by many bus companies and the trip can be as low as $5 each way. You can easily find these on the Internet and from these buses you can easily access a taxi or Metro. There is a bus station in DC but once you are off the bus, you will want to take a taxi to your hotel or to the org.

Train: Union Station is a beautiful train station with a breathtaking view of the Capitol Building. This is the Amtrak Station and you can access the Metro from there or easily get a taxi. The station is very upstat and generally safe.

Metro: The DC Metro is convenient, clean and safe for travel. The closest Metro Station to the org is Dupont Circle which is on the red line. When you get into the station you must buy your ticket. DC has millions of visitors each year and so the directions at the Metro station are easy to understand and the attendants are very helpful.

Parking: There is a parking lot with 200 spaces reserved for us on the corner of O and 17th. There will be signs directing you to the parking on the day of the event.

Hotels: Right now the best hotel deals are on Hotels.com or on Travelocity.com when booking both a hotel and flight (many cities will have “Last Minute Deals” with 2 nights hotel and a flight for less than $300) and we would love to have you here on Friday so come early!

Any hotel which is in the downtown or Embassy Row sections of town are good and will be close enough to travel by taxi or Metro. The best price hotels right now are in Alexandria, VA which is near Reagan Airport. These are easy access to the org via Metro.

You can also call the Washington Hilton Hotel and get a room on Friday and Saturday night for $89 with tax it comes to a total of $101.90 per night. To get this special rate, call 202-483-3000 and ask for “Reservations”. Let them know you would like the rate for Church of Scientology and use the code “CSC”. This hotel is just up the street from the LRH House and then another 15 minutes walk to the new building.

We want to get 5,000 Scientologists from around the US here in Washington to celebrate this occasion. Please make your plans to attend and get your friends, family, and associates to attend with you.

So while formal protests are pretty much done, the closure of 16th Street could certainly be problematic for those driving to parties tonight. The line to turn for those going southbound on 16th at R Street was fifteen-deep as we moved on by. It might be common sense, but between this and the closures in Georgetown, you're better off walking or Metroing to your Halloween celebrations today.
