Keith Relkin, an openly gay man in West Hollywood, gave an interview in 2000 how Scientology helped him get off drugs and that he was accepted as an openly gay man in the cult:

I remember many friends reading this, which appeared in a now-defunct gay publication titled "Fab: Los Angeles," and expressed disgust how this guy could be so delusional.

A telephone call to the editor of Fab, at the time, revealed the interview took place after Relkin called his office demanding to be interviewed, after Relkin read an article quoting Graham Berry on the cult's homophobic policies,, which Relkin swore did not exist.

Relkin later started a group titled, 'Clear Rainbow Group', which consisted of gay and gay-supportive members. Relkin had gotten the go-ahead to create literature, which would be published & distributed by the cult, to promote Scientology as a "church" openly supportive of the GLBT community.

Story has it that when DM & RTC execs got word of this project, they immediately shut it down and ordered the destruction of the Clear Rainbow Group. Relkin was so angry with this, he demanded a full refund of his money and quit the cult.

Keith Relkin then disappeared. Friends in WeHo that knew him said he quietly moved to the Midwest to study becoming a chiropractor.

UPDATE: An anon who posts on WWP recently contact Mr. Relkin to see how he's doing and what he's up to.

Relkin responded that he is back in West Hollywood and is uplines again at the Los Angeles Org studying the basics.

I have no doubt that OSA will coming calling on him again to use (manipulate) as a model of Scientology's open arms policy towards the GLBT community.

Perhaps some anons here who have Facebook pages or Twitter can open up a friendly line of communication with him to see why he felt compelled to return to a cult that so brazenly betrayed him before.
