We did not look at the video. This is because the case is closed and the other evidence you had sent did not persuade us that we have made the wrong decision. Our decision stands, under the Advertising Code we consider that the identity of the advertiser is clear. To reiterate, the ad is for TWTHF which is considered an organisation in its own rights and, as we understand it, was granted tax exemption in the late 1980s renewed by the IRS in 1993.

Given that the ASA’s decision stands and that I have provided you with all the information I can, I am afraid that I cannot be of any more assistance in this matter.

2) Since when was TWTHF tax-exempt before 1993? Can anyone disconfirm this?
3) Dude doesn't give a shit about dox. Ideas?

Can any Ex's confirm if TWTH material is part of the basic Scientology courses? If so, this would show that TWTH is Scientology without the label.

For instance, if I were to start a non-profit group to print, distribute, and offer instructions for life based on the following:

'1. Listen to instruction; pay attention and gain understanding.'
'2. Get wisdom, get understanding.'
'3. Do not forsake wisdom, it will protect you.'
'4. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.'
'5. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.'
'6. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.'

Would the ASA let me get away without mentioning these 'guidelines' are religously based, as they are lifted directly from chapter 4 of the Book of Proverbs?

if we had dox they were lying about the above, we could send in a complaint, like from a lawyer. And send the other info they don't want to look at in by lawyer too.

does anyone know who it was that had a video of himself with several 4 or 5" binders full of COS info. I cannot remember. Anyhoo, I bet that person would know TWTH's info. Any other exes that would know? BFG maybe?

Thank you for your e-mail.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to outline your concerns about our recent adjudication involving The Way to Happiness Foundation (TWTHF). I appreciate that you disagree with our assessment of the complaint and are disappointed with our decision.

I am afraid, however, that we are not persuaded by your argument that the ASA has made the wrong decision.

We acknowledged in our adjudication that TWTHF is a Scientology related entity. We were careful to stress in our ruling that we do not deny that TWTHF is linked to Scientology but, overall, we considered that it was clear that it was an ad by TWTHF. The ad was not misleading, in our consideration, by virtue of failing to mention Scientology.

I realise that this response will disappoint you but I would like to reassure you that the ASA gave this case careful consideration before reaching its conclusion.

if the ASA and other groups aren't that interested- perhaps other tactics may be more productive- how do TWTH booklets get distributed and to whom?

Can we find out who they go to and harpoon?
Can we get a stack sent to us (we may have to form frontgroups now!) and then sticker them with youfound the card or other info?

You should point out that TWTHF was listed as a Scientology affiliate in the IRS final agreement for the tax agreement purpose. Regardless of status prior to 1993 it is clearly documented TWTHF is significantly joined to the cult.
