Yes Meade was involved in the early 80s corporate evolutions. He and another attorney from his firm (Leon Misterix) spelling? were both involved.

I worked a lot with them both although some other attorneys were more involved. In fact we were having problems getting the CSRT trust document right with attorneys in Los Angeles and I flew up to Seattle to meet with Meade and Leon to get it drafted properly.

I met and otherwise worked with them often during the whole corporate change then.

In late 1982 or in 1983 I had the first actual meeting with the top IRS big wigs on behalf of organized scientology. Real scientology haters on the part of the IRS were there such as Charlie Rump, Joe Tedesco and Gene Gessay (spelling on all = ?). Meade and some other attorneys came with me to that meeting. In fact Meade was the one who really got us that meeting due to his connections from having been an exec in the IRS previously.

I do not know to what degree he helped in the 90s - they got their 501 (c) (3) letters in 1993 - as I was not there then.

Anyone know whatever became of Charlie Rump, Joe Tedesco and Gene Gessay? If they had a bone to pick with the CoS back then, they might still be valuable sources of information and guidance.

Not really finding references to any of these guys online, except some brief mentions from the original CoS-IRS interaction as mentioned above.
