Also don't over-do things. i.e. don't listen to Ogsonofgroo. Google will penalize you if they think you are trying to game the system.

Incidentally, what gregg suggests doesn't just improve Google rankings, it also creates original content and shows it to real human beings. See how those things are connected? Google does that on purpose - they keep emphasizing "make websites for humans".

It also makes you go out and post on forums and blogs, not just here on WWP. Interact with the general public more, like in early 2008.

Another thing you might consider, is that perhaps WhyWeProtest shouldn't be highest ranked for Scientology, but maybe Xenu.net or ExScientologyKids or the Ex Scientoogy Message Boards should be highest for "Scientology", while WhyWeProtest should be highest for "Anonymous" or "Scientology protest".

Also, link to subforums and threads, not just the front page of the site.

Reasons why this site is not ranking for "Scientology":

1. "Scientology" is not in the name of the domain. "Why We Protest" is useless to the google spiders - all they can see is that the site is about "Why We Protest."
2. "Scientology" Is not in the title tag of any of the pages.
3. "Scientology" is in barely any of the <h> tags. Headers like "Who Is Anonymous" and "Why We Wear Masks" are useless. We need titles like "Why Anonymous Is Fighting Scientology" and "We Wear Masks To Protect Ourselves From Scientology."
4. "Scientology" is in hardly any anchor text. We need links to the top ranked google sites on the subject like scientology.org and have strings like "Scientology" in the link text.
5. "Scientology" appears in no bold text.
6. Not enough copy on the front page, and what is there is not optimised to be read by spiders.
7. Deep links have no keyword relevance. This page, for example, is called http://forums.whyweprotest.net/newre...te=1&p=1143356. The word "Scientology" needs to be in as many as possible, preferably every one.

And we don't want the bots to spider the reply form page, only the actual threads.

She's a cautionary tale which doesn't mean nobody should make blogs and press releases; it means we should have at least 10 people taking her place. Just use proxies and change identities a lot.

Indeed. Point still stands though - the only reason scientology is in the title of THIS page is because it's in the thread title. It could be fixed with something as simple as putting everythign in a subdirectory called Scientology, so that the URL would come up as something like Google Results for scientology.

OTOH, this isn't your forum software and I don't know how much access you have to the CMS on the backend.

I've posted Google: Scientology / Abuses (Over 13 Million entries) after many of my posts to emphasize the fact that no matter how you look at it, abuse is a major problem at Scientology.

Two weeks later if you:

What happened to 6 million entries when googling Scientology / Abuses, Google..........Google?

The Scientology approach is that if you remove or delete negative press, it never happened instead of addressing legitimate abuse concerns.

Never correct the abuse problems, always attack the accuser, it's no wonder Scientology never learned how to correct abuse issues, it's against Hubbard's policies to do so.

Google Bombing isn't a new concept. They've probably done that (Plus, as mentioned, Travolta)

Pretty much correct. But you can still win the keywords you want without a lot of that, using the methods I listed off. I didnt list any of the ones you did because the main site wont get any of those changes (www., not forums.) If anything is done to massively change those pages it will probably be something to bring in the iran site and maybe some other crap. So that main site wont get those changes. We could probably do something like www.whyweprotest.net/scientology/ and then SEO the fuck out of that.

(I also do a shit ton of SEO for work and customers.)

Now, I think it is a decent idea to be familiar with the goings-on of scientology as well as narconon, so be sure to google these places every once in a while, and click on the "pretty links" at the top.

I think there is a lot of youtube advertising going on. I am not familiar with their pricing model.

I usually use alltheweb.com for searching, mostly because I'm a creature of habit and started using it one back in the Devonian or thereabouts. Anyway, searching for just "scientology" brought up Wikipedia at top spot.
