Give one element of censorship, it opens the door to censor so much more. And besides, it can't be enforced without broad application to sites that it should not apply to. Stupid law is stupid.

Edit: Here is a better idea, put more money into operations by German authorities to track down and work with other law-enforcement in other countries to track down pedos.

Your argumentation sucks. And you're not thinking with portals: Cameras and copy machines already have anti-counterfeit features to stop you from copying money - soon you might see cameras which come with anti-nudity filters. Be careful what ideas you put out there because people can actually act on them.

Yes, you can have a blocklist only for CP, but there is of course a danger that blocklists might be exploited to block other things, which is why you need to have a legislative and judicial review of those blocklists. You can't, of course, publish the lists, but you can publish the number of blocked sites, the reasons why they're blocked, and the countries which they are hosted.

Germanons should make sure that such checks and balances are in place, and that the lists are not abused. The alternative would be that the German government DDoS certain Chinese, Russian, Brazilian and Malaysian hosting companies. Cyberwar lol.

CP is unacceptable, I agree.
The IRL CP acts are crimes and should be dealt with at their source, not by punishing every internet user for the crimes of a tiny few.

Nasty fact: if it wasn't for Internet CP then detection rates for CP crimes would be super low.

Governments seeking to impose political censorship by frightening people with CP is exactly the same as governments pushing CCTV cameras onto every street and monitoring all your email, phonecalls and web use to 'protect our freedom'.

Looks like the Nazi German government is afraid of an informed electorate.

Okay, the webhosters statement seems honest and I have nothing
to argue against it. Maybe the creators really overdid it with the satire
or should at least haven't linked to the mimicked the corresponding
government agency.

Now you can scream bloody murder, but I guess the governing law relates to
phishing sites that copy the design of bank homepages. So the law
in itself is somehow valid, though it appears it has been abused in this
case.

Anyway, the site is back up with vengeance.
