Tom went to them to star in MI:4. They want to give it to some young up-and-comer. They were obliged to offer him a production role, but the diva declined. Perez also mentioned the Von Stauffenberg shoop drama.

Psychiatrists provide competition for Scilon "therapy," and their help costs less and is generally more effective. Less money for Scientology.

Psychiatrists are generally better-educated than the average upper-level Scientologist, and capable of shooting down false claims about how the mind works, thus invalidating most of Scientology's claims.

Elron was pissed that psychiatrists didn't consider him the genius he thought himself to be, and that they could contradict his grandiose claims.

Scientology stole partially-comprehended ideas from hundreds of other sources, including psychiatry and psychology and religion, something the average psychiatrist would spot and complain about in a heartbeat.

Psychiatrists would decry the brainwashing and programming techniques.

Psychiatrists might have urged Elron to get treatment for his disorders, which would prove Scientology techniques were ineffective. This does make me wonder how he got his mitts on the Vistaril (sp?) found in his system after he died.

The Daily Mirror was interviewing Smith and the subject of Tom Cruise and fencing came up. He told them that Tom has a room in his house that was built for practicing fencing. The three friends hang out there and practice their swordsmanship.
