The Irish Government set up a Commission 9 years ago into the treatment of children in "institutions". While the terms of reference didn't specifically refer to the Catholic Church, most of those institutions were church-run.

Following the May report of the Commission, the Irish Government ordered a further inquiry into how the Roman Catholic Church's leadership handled the allegations of child abuse about which it knew.

OMG! The Irish government is bigoted! And they blurred the line between church and state!

Thursday, the government inquiry's 720-page report into the Roman Catholic Church was published.

Kevin Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull - take note.

There is another point worth emphasising if you want to go with this approach. Many Catholics are disgusted at the abuses. In the same vein many Scientologists (i.e. FreeZoners) are also disgusted. Worth considering.

That's the difference. Catholics can protest the actions of their religion without fear of reprisal by excommunication. They wanted justice so they wouldn't have written any letters defending what their church had done.

We all know what happens if a scilon tries that.
