So whats all this hoo-hah about?

The beautiful Royal Theatre in Downtown Clearwater, FL has agreed to rent to us. The occupancy is about 520~. The event will be from 11am-1pm. Cake and Q&A will be in Coachman Park, followed by a peaceful demonstration, marching around Ft. Harrison Blvd. The cost includes everything we will need theatre-wise on that day (sound, lighting.. etc). :) So far, we have a few donors that have already graciously helped to fund the event. We're all set up to sign the contract, we just have to put down a deposit of 400.00 USD. The contract will be signed tomorrow afternoon, sorry for the short notice. The rest of the theatre cost is payable day of the event. The insurance costs will be due within the next week or so.

The paypal for this donation drive is: anonclearwater@gmail.com , which goes directly to the person signing the contract. We will keep this thread updated as to how much is needed for the full cost of the event, and when we near that limit, we will inform you as to not go over the amount needed. :)

e: It should also be noted that the cost to get the permit through the City for Coachman Park for just the event and permit app, is about equal to what the whole theatre will cost. The permit cost did not include the bandshell, or any sound/possible lighting. It was also stated for that type of permit we would have had to pay for CWPD to be there. Estimated costs topped almost tripled theatre costs.

In an effort to be fair for people on both sides, I think we should write a letter to Pat Harney and Karin Pouw inviting them to speak at the event as well. I do not know how long the speakers will each wish to speak, and there will most likely be a video played at the beginning. I don't see a problem with us offering them 15 minutes uninterrupted speech time to speak their ground on this issue. The reason why I say uninterrupted, is because it would be nice if people didn't screech or boo at either of them if they choose to come speak.

Pipe dream? Maybe... but I don't see offering hurting.

Also, CoS can try many things, but the question is, do you think they will succeed?

Maaaaybe. I don't see how they could get in between a private contract of a location and people it's renting to. Once the $400 goes down, how secure is this? Any way they can dart in past us and coerce/bully/bribe them into backing out or renting to them instead?

That's just asking for trouble, but if it could be pulled off...if they refuse, we're the Nice Anonymous That Tries To Show Both Sides, and if they agree, we're Nice Anonymous That Shows Both Sides. It'd have to be arranged absolutely as soon as possible so *everyone* attending knows it's planned and that they really can't try to boo them off the stage (and perhaps a mini reminder speech/introduction from an anon before they come onstage). Also, we'd want to let CWPD know, and Co$ would obviously want Scienosecurity there, which could be *ugly*. But if we bribe them with video cameras and publicity? CW Anons would have to be "on excellent behavior", though. Otherwise it would backfire into us luring them into our trap and then ripping them apart. Figuratively.

The way I see it, the problems would be...
1. Would they agree without causing so much trouble *we* can't agree (eg refusing to show up unless everyone was unmasked or they had full contact information or whatever)?
2. Co$ security goons + Anonymous. Nuff said.
3. Will anons be able to resist the opportunity for lulz if said lulz would backfire?

We have the theatre from 11am to 1pm
After 1pm we are going to Coachman Park for caek (IRC demands it), and a possible Q&A session with the speakers if they wish to do so.
3pm has been noted as the hottest part of the day, so I'd like to plan to march after that, but people will get ants in their pants, so we may have to do it sooner. We'll see how things progress as time moves on.

We have got permission to station volunteers, cases of water, and trash bags at intersections to help with the flow of traffic and get anons through crosswalks even more fluidly.

Also, in speaking with CWPD, it was noted that when you enter a building - ie the library, Starbucks, etc.. that you do need to take off your masks. He stated that the anons that were in the library complied immediately when an officer asked them to remove their masks, and would like for it not to be an issue next time. :)

If you invite them and they refuse to come you mention it. "We invited Flag representatives here to address you and help clear up a few misconceptions, but they said that they had other things to do.."

If they do show up, at the very least they will not be able to do much more than dig themselves deeper. They don't have any semantical tools for detractors other than attack. If you are polite but stand your ground to them they won't know what to do.

Hey guys, I just had a thought regarding the mini-raid tomorrow evening in front of Ruth Eckerd. It just so happens to coincide with the 3rd Friday street-fest thing that Safety Harbor does!

Also, about inviting Co$, I'm concerned about taking some of their highest level peeps and downright GIVING them the chance to bullbait a crowd of anons that will already be glaring and scoffing under their masks. It sounds like a ticking time bomb in THEIR favor, although, if they attempted such a tactic and it failed (all anons kept on target) it would be a truly lulzy.
