Priorities before the raid:

1. GET PERMIT! (anyone who is interested in getting the permit, please use the email above)

2. CAKE! (cake is vital to our operation, make it delicious)

3. Bring a DVD player (We will be showing "The Bridge" on a small television, we need a DVD player to play it on)

4. DVDs of "The Bridge" for distribution (If you have the resources to burn 20, then burn 20, we need as many as we can. The movie can be found for download here: "The Bridge": a critical film about the Church of Scientology by Brett Hanover)

5. Massive poster campaigns on the UK and UofL campuses. (Get a small group together and find a place where you can exploit a free printer, print out about a thousand flyers, you will need them.)

6. ????

7. PROFIT!

Everyone who wants to get a permit, go file one.

The information should read as follows:

The event is: Anonymous Protest of Scientology

The time will be: 12 PM to 5 PM (We might not stay there that long, but who knows?)

To get the actual permit form for a SMALL EVENT, call Robin Richards @ 5025742985, she'll email it to you. Say you're with the anonymous group.

i'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet in this thread...

april 12 is the day of thunder over louisville. i believe this will present some unique opportunities for operation reconnect here. an estimated 850,000 people attended thunder last year, and it will surely be bigger this year. people come from all over the US (and even the world) to attend.

now, i know the permit it seems like we'll have will allow the protest to go from noon til 5 pm, which is only during the airshow part of thunder. after this time though, is it possible we could walk around downtown near the river, where everyone likes to sit, and hand out fliers? i'm not sure of the laws on this and if it's allowed, but it wouldn't be the first time i've seen fliers handed out downtown at thunder. there's literally thousands of people packed tightly there and handing out fliers would be easy...we'd probably need to print over 9000. the number of people we could get the message about scientology to would be an exponential increase over any other regular protest.

i know it's a bit of a drive to get there from bardstown road, but the profit would be big. if it turns out it wouldn't be lawful on the louisville side, the indiana side of the river is just as packed with people.

anyway, just thought i'd throw this out there to see what people think.

I finally have enough free time to attend the rally this month so I'll be there. As far as Thunder goes, handing out fliers sounds like a great idea. If enough people come to protest I think it would be cool to hit both sides of the river. I'm wondering if marching with picket signs would be legal at Thunder though, if anyone has any info on this please post.

P.S. How many people are we expecting so I can make enough cake for all:-P

The police say that while they support Anonymous and say that we have the right to protest, we have to be identifiable.

I know it sucks, but like I've been saying, if you want to wea r amask, wear it at your own discretion, and come with a bak up disguise.

As far as I know, face paint hasn't been ruled out.

Usually on Thunder the downtown Bluegrass Brewing Company has a small party for family and friends. There is normally food and drinks there, so if anyone is thinking of passing flyers and such downtown or on the riverfront before or during the fireworks after the main protest we could use that as a meeting place or something and I could let people in.

I finally got an email back from Brett Hanover, the director of The Bridge.

I had asked him about distribution rights to hand out the movie at our next protest, here is the e-mail message I sent.

Anyone interested?? UK campus is very large, Also connected with a large hospital. A lot of students are pre med. This would be a good recruiting site for our next protest and help get the word out about our work.
