This seems like a good general theme for the April protests. A lot of "reconnect" signs not only makes us look good to the general public (as if the general concept of being closer with your family isn't justifiable enough) it could even establish that we are definitely the good guy here. I've noticed that there hasn't been too much attention brought to the disconnection policy of the CO$(at the last two miami protests). Now's as good a time as ever.

I see it as a bad belief in their disconnect policy. You don't solve your problems by ignoring loved ones and others, and never seeing them again.

I'm just studying up their illegal activities and policies.

I know that this isn't about their beliefs but I'm sure it helps to read their text. Anyway, I'd like to see a definite ruling on all these little ideas we're having now.

And to add other into the mix, we should try and get more of us protesters to post here. I'm sure that not all of us do.

Though going forward, we should probably secure a permit to avoid issues. All the more reason to send the cops a thank-you letter!

I think we should also try to adopt the policy put forth on the discussion boards--everyone try to bring you + 1; this way we can double our numbers.

btw, i think we need to get more of a move on by spreading the word, we need more protesters, no doubt. anyone wanna make fliers? i'll print a few out. we should def. meet up somewhere and start putting some up. we've got a little more than 3 weeks to recruit some more peeps, and hopefully gain back some of the we lost (cause from what i saw there weren't as many on 3/15 as there was on 2/10). lets get this poppin' ppl.

I would put fliers up around my school but.. It'd probably be a waste of paper and if anyone did come, they'd be idiots. Anyone wanna give me a way to bring more people?

I think putting up fliers in your school would be a bad idea, cause excuse me for potentially sounding paranoid, you could out yourself among a random kid in your school that could be a $cientologist.. Find a local university or college, and flier it up. Bulletin boards, classroom doors, anything you can find. Remember to stay covered up.

If the school is a public high school, then yeah it might be a bad idea--anything not approved by administrators that gets posted up is liable to get them irritated and the responsible party in hot water.

Colleges, OTOH, are usually pretty good hotbeds of activism. A stapler or roll of tape, a fistful of flyers, and an hour will get some good exposure.

If I get some time I'll see if I can chop together one of those "V crowd" fliers for 4/12.

What I think one of our problems are though, is that Miami doesn't have many Anons... And for obvious reasons.

Another thing is that maybe instead of putting stuff that's against the cult on our signs (hear me out), we simply put information about the things they've done. I think 'Scientology kills it's followers' would get more serious attention attention than 'Down with Scientology'.

Well, you wanted new blood... here's some. I represent 2 people... maybe more if I can convince them not to fear the church and go. Though in all honesty, even we're a bit nervous since we go have jobs and lives and all that can be fucked with. (Police, hospital workers, teachers, firemen, and similar public service jobs. Not all but listing enough so that which ones aren't obvious. lol)

Anyway, i've been reading up, and I'm trying to open conversation with exsci's on other online places. But to learn from them and perhaps ask for help.

I have a friend who has access to a print shop, so I am hoping I can get him to print out B&W flyers cheapish. I am also close enough to BCC/FAU/Nova... that I don't mind dropping a bunch of papers around.

As for uniform... I was considering getting a blank baseball cap from a craftstore and sticking my hair up under that. Can write stuff on the cap. Also wanna get those thick ass sunglasses that will fit over prescription glasses. They're so bulky they'll cover up the upper half of my face. Then for the lower half, I was considering getting a fake mustache, and either a fake beard (might annoy me) or do a makeup V (eyeliner goatee and blushed cheeks). I choose all these things because I though it'd be comfortable to wear for a long time,and relatively practical. (Particularly in that one could eat and drink with it on.)
I like the idea of wearing all black and wearing a tie. The other thought I had was to get tshirt transfers and make a tshirt tuxedo.

My friend mentioned that Anon's protests are kinda similar to how the superman radio show publicized information on the KKK to bring them down back in the day.

Also... considering finding the time and inclination to make some kinda music vid to protest pictures and stuff... as if my life isn't busy enough.. lol.

FWIW, if any of you were listening to the internet feed of Le Batard's show today, I sent the xenu.net text in. I think we should flood him, he's silly enough to give us a plug.

RE- getting bigger attendance. This is Miami, people don't protest, but they do party. Do any anons have a friendly bar/club owner that would let us throw an Reconnect pre-party? It would be a great way to spread the word, rally the troops, and attract some more people.

RE- media. I noticed nobody bothered to contact New Times before the last go 'round. They are our best bet for a sympathetic ear. Anyone know anybody over there? If not, I suggest we do more than send an email, we need a phone call (or 10). Also, phone calls need to go into all the papers, emails are too easily blown off.

RE- masks. This has been the biggest reason why I have stayed out of the protests. Sorry, but I am not getting fair gamed. I know they can't do anything serious, but I don't need my family, friends, employer getting bothered by these weirdos. There has got to be a way (maybe get the ACLU involved?) to prove the masks are for our own protection.

I'm thinking perhaps we should also start email and letter writing campaigns... but i'll mention that over on the activism board - if theres not one similar already.
