So, I broke down and finally downloaded Battlefield Earth. (What, you thought I'd pay for it?) And here's my review:

I want to stab my eyes out and kill myself. Luckily I downloaded the rifftrax version, so at least it was funny. (Google rifftrax if you're unfamiliar)

Basic look: Shit. Seriously, they could have said this movie was made in the early 1980's and i wouldn't have batted an eyelash. The backgrounds in most cases were obviously painted, and everything is blue. Constant blue. Even the rifftrax at one point said "the color blue is dead to me."

Audio: Ass. Obviously some college kid who hasn't figured out how to move the options on his korg OFF strings and grand piano.

Acting: Good christ. Not that the acting was just terrible, but Travolta outdid himself. The man has won awards. Scilon or not, he is an actor. In this movie, he may has well been an 8th grade production of Hamlet. His gestures were so incredibly bad it hurt. His lines were as convincing as a sitcom. Once again, noticed by rifftrax who did an entire scene of his acting to a studio audience laugh track.

Storyline: Classic bad sci-fi. And this isn't my cos-bias. It is rancid. Seriously I got more believable science fiction from an episode of fucking Sliders. And sliders had better special effects.

Overall: Vomit. I have to say, if you smoke pot, get this rifftrax version and watch it. Otherwise avoid. It is cinema-sodomy at it's worst.

Rifftrax is the only way to see it. I tried watching it on it's own a few times, i could only get about 2 or 3 minutes into it.

With rifftrax, and a magnum of cheap wine, i had a pretty good time.

I am not a Scientologist but have many wonderful friends who are Presidents, Emperors and community leaders who are Scientologists and they are all wonderful, nomo novis people.

While I watched Battlefield Earth I felt my space expand a billion, million, thousand times. Suddenly *****pooof**** all my dynamics aligned and I was like totally exterior.

WOW!!!

Obviously whoever wrote the book upon which this movie was based was a genius, if not a god!!!!

Again, I am not a Scientologist but even so this movie increased my ARC and KRC for all mankind.
