People COULD NOT have guests over. They couldn't order pizza. What the permits say is not exactly the same thing as what the cult security and its LAPD stooges enforce. Telling an elderly woman with a walker she had to walk three blocks around TO GET TO HER OWN HOUSE?

I was not there for "Bad people", but I was there many times for the closures.



What I'm saying is: Nobody has went to the board and said "how can you approve sidewalk closures when the permits clearly state you cannot close the sidewalks". (the forms were revised/approved: Rev. 09-16-02)

Someone needs to have the board clarify what they have the power to do. The sidewalk closures could be an oversight that has simple become accepted over time.

It may be not be within their power to close the sidewalks.

Dear Mitch (Assistant to Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti):

I have spoken to you before regarding the closures of L.Ron Hubbard Way by the Church of Scientology. I have been to this location many times to peacefully protest (and used to work on the 2nd floor of the ASHO Building in the Office of Special Affairs) and film the protests.

Last week, the COS applied for a street permit to close down LRH Way and the sidewalks on Fountain Avenue from Friday, July 3 - Sunday, July 5th @ 10:00PM. In their application, they claimed 5,000 people would be attending (only 15% of that number ever shows up for events now or when I was in the church a decade ago).

The street permit was denied, then re-considered and approved. Not only did the street permit allow the closures of LRH Way and the sidewalks on Fountain Avenue, the permit, according to LAPD Officer Bowman, gave LAPD officers "the sole discretion" to close down the sidewalks on both sides of Catalina Street & Sunset Blvd. as they saw fit.

Now, the COS has applied to close down LRH Way & Fountain Avenue sidewalks EVERY WEEKEND through the month of July. I thought the City Council, including Eric, had come to a resolution not to allow this consistent abuse by the COS to shut down the street they believe they personally own (since Berendo Street was re-named L Ron Hubbard Way) whenever they pleased.

On Friday night, I was simply filming an event on Fountain Avenue, when LAPD Officer Turner (who consistently moonlights these COS events & has a documented history of abusing his authority to harass protesters) shoved me 3 separate times, and when I complained, bullied & threatened to arrest me for "spitting" on him.

I videotaped the incident including Officer Turner admitting that he pushed me, and afterwards, Officer Turner can be seen laughing & talking with several Scientology handlers & COS security personnel that stalked me throughout the evening when I filmed the protest.

It seems painfully obvious that COS has some control over the City and your office when it comes to making decisions directly favorable to Scientology, no matter how much it violates the constitutional rights of others.

Is it because the City fears being harassed and threatened with litigation by the COS (they have a decades old, documented history of instituting these shenanigans when it comes to getting their way, and are largely successful in doing it, because they know it works.

When I was an active Scientologist, working for the Office of Special Affairs, church attorney Kendrick Moxon gloated that Scientology always had the City Council and the LAPD in "their back pocket." He said this over a decade ago. Does this still apply?

Is it because the COS puts $$$ into the pockets of moonlighting LAPD officers who work these events. LAPD Officer Bowman told me that he enjoyed moonlighting for Scientology because he gets paid $75.00 an hour to do so.

Do these moonlighting jobs entitle LAPD officers to use their police authority to sustain the directives of Scientology management to harass others the COS perceive to be critical of them?

Because that is precisely what the LAPD is doing at these COS events which the City Council seems to want to turn a blind eye to, even when other residents are suffering.

Please look into this.
