There's a new proposed review policy at Wikinews since August. The number of articles skydived, as is the negative news on the Scientology category. Currently the discussion is open and there is a vote too. With only about 4 news article per day, currently $3 mil short of donation goal, (not to mention gas less than $2, trading volume historical low), the few elitists will probably listen, instead of turning it into their private playground.

If you participated in Wikinews a while ago, or in Wikipedia, you know your way around at Wikinews:Reviewing policy. Otherwise, there's too much hassle to get involve now, unless you really want to.
