Is there anyone who can translate the Applied Scholastic Warning Packs in to Spanish? It looks like maybe there needs to be a Spanish speaking team on Anon's to sign on for these special poons?

    Well, guess what?

I just got off the phone with Rep. Dan Burke! We had a lovely 15 minute phone call and he assures me that House Resolution 254 has been stripped of anything to do with Nancy Cartwright's program! They are NOT using her program according to Rep. Burke. ALL of our calls and emails educating him about Ms. Cartwright's program and Scientology made him dig deeper. (He actually mentioned that a few years ago he'd done some historical research into the Mormons in Illinois and had always erroneously thought that the Scientologists were like the Mormons, but he realizes now that they are not.) I took the time to tell him about Operation Snow White, the abuse and slavery of the Sea Org, and the use of celebrities to validate Scientology and how all of their front groups are eventually used for PR purposes. He said that he knew more about Scientology than he ever wanted to know. I told him I felt the same.

He read me what the resolution says now and it's basically a calling to find more moral avenues to instill values through the Illinois public school system. I'm sorry I don't have total recall on exactly what the resolution now says, but it is short and sweet and to the point.

I'm happier than a red pig in mud right now. I told Rep. Burke that I was going to post about our conversation and that we'd be watching when the resolution was re-introduced. He thanked all of us for our efforts.

yeah this is a pretty big freakin' deal when you think about it.
The news should report all the good things that Anons do too. Not just what they are told about Anons.
Illinoss elementary schools are now saved from the deception of the COS.
maybe a local paper may be interested in this story?
  21. RightOn Member

    and BTW
for Cartwright to fly all the way to Chicago with a COS lawyer present just to push to put the "Good Choice Program" pamphlet in elementary schools should be very telling in itself. They must understand now (hopefully) that COS was hoping that this little "innocent" pamphlet would have more legs and more intention down the road. Like parent and teacher recruitment, and also COS skulking their way into other aspects of the community... just to name a few.

Great job. Funny how the COS has to make up shit about Anons but Anons can just let the truth speak for itself. Even if it takes encouraging some "active listening".

We should definitely send this link to Nancy Cartright. I hope she reads it.

She'd just donate even more to the IAS.

    MUST..... STOP....... ENTHETA...................

I was thinking about this, how a couple of years ago she donated more than she made from working on The Simpsons, $10 million dollars. Scientologists all seem to be busy little critters with many businesses. Kirstie Alley has a boatload of stuff going on besides Orgasmic Lieasons. It sustains them through the dry spells. So Cartwright's got her fingers in the Scilon education pie. I am not surprise. Joy Westrum is similar; her program, Second Chance, is licensed to use Hubbard materials just like Cartwright. Only she's seeking enrichment in the private incarceration industry.

I admire him for being willing to get himself educated and to change his stance. It's the attitude of an adult.

Well technically cartwright's fingers are in the WTH pie. And there was a nagging thought in my head about the type of program she is shilling, somewhere i had heard of something similar before (morals/common sense for kids) but not in the school system and I couldnt place the recollection at first.

but now i remember... years ago i did volunteer work at the local YFC in what was called a "mentor" program for troubled teens. well ok, troubled teens with parents who were rich enough to get them into a special program in lieu of detention/probabtion after their first criminal offense. But it was government funded nonetheless and altho I volunteered my time/expenses for free, the YFC got monies out of it that i didnt realize until a raging jewish mother threw a hissy fit about the Christian cross on the front of the building.

at the time, this was an experimental deal w/ 2 state programs and 1 federal program all rolled into a 2yr trial period. *i think* the mentoring portion was the federally funded part, and the state programs were the morals/common-sense classes + pickup trash on highways for community service. The combo deal as i knew it was disbanded at the ended of the trial period but last I heard the individual parts and pieces still lived on within the juvenile court/probation system in some kind of form for first offenders.

I'm going to try to track down my old contacts from this program, to find out how it works nowadays and where to look to find such programs in a given state... cuz in light of what Cartwright pulled in Illinois - Imma thinking there's possibly a better venue here (juvie courts rather than public schools) for her "good choices" WTH rehash crap.

Cartwright also turned up in the newsletters of the NFWL - National Foundation for Women Legislators - as having delivered a session on her Happy House thing to politicians at their annual conference. Back then (2005) she called it Building Better Families.
