Even though i fucking hate the music industry, and you will never again see me mention fucking Billboard, but I'm going to make a rare exception this time. Because this is a man who has earned every accolade. I consider Blackstar to be a personnel gift, to us, the people. Fuck the recording industry, fuck their bullshit, and fuck everything they stand for.

David Bowie storms the ARIA charts

David Bowie - No 1 on the Billboard Artist 100

Blackstar - No 1 on the Billboard 200

The UK's Top 100 official biggest-selling artist albums

    No 1 - David Bowie - Blackstar

No 4 - David Bowie - The Best Of Bowie

No 14 - David Bowie - Hunky Dory

No 17 - David Bowie - The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust

No 22 - David Bowie - The Next Day

No 23 - David Bowie - Alladdin Sane

    No 29 - David Bowie - Low

No 39 - David Bowie - Diamond Dogs

    No 53 - David Bowie - Heros

No 55 - David Bowie - Lets Dance

No 56 - David Bowie - Station To Station

No 59 - David Bowie - Scary Monsters

No 64 - David Bowie - Young Americans

    No 90 - David Bowie - Lodger

That many albums in the charts by a single artist, is both unprecedented and astounding. He's gone, but still breaking records. A simple game of genius.

It seems they are comming in thick these days.

The singer Black (Colin Vearncomb) just died today after a a week in coma following a car accident. He was primarily known for "Wonderful life" from the 80's. My Old Man used to listen to it when he was in a contemplative mood.

David Bowie's Blackstar Art Released for Free to Fans

Jonathan Barnbrook is the graphic designer who designed several of David Bowie's album covers, including this year's Blackstar. Today, Barnbrook—the eponymous London design agency he founded—released the design elements for Blackstar under a Creative Commons NonCommercial-ShareAlike license, so that they can be used by fans for non-commercial purposes. You can download them here.

Barnbrook also shared a note about the release:

Barnbrook loved working with David Bowie, he was simply one of the most inspirational, kind people we have met. So in the spirit of openness and in remembrance of David we are releasing the artwork elements of his last album ★ (Blackstar) to download here free under a Creative Commons NonCommercial-ShareAlike licence. That means you can make t-shirts for yourself, use them for tattoos, put them up in your house to remember David by and adapt them too, but we would ask that you do not in any way create or sell commercial products with them or based on them. Any questions or commercial licence usage please contact us.

Previously, Barnbrook explained the meaning behind Blackstar's cover. "This was a man who was facing his own mortality, and I hope the design is appropriate to that," he said.

Bowie leaves $100m fortune in will, wanted ashes scattered in Bali

David Bowie's 20-page will has reportedly revealed the music icon wanted his ashes scattered in Bali and his $US100 million fortune shared among his family.

Bowie, who died of cancer earlier this month, asked for his estate be left to his wife Iman Abdulmajid Jones, children, a nanny and a personal assistant, according to the will filed in Manhattan and seen by the New York Times.

His widow will receive about half of his estate, along with his Manhattan penthouse, where fans left a wall of flowers after his death.

Bowie's adult son Duncan and teenage daughter Alexandria will get about 25 per cent each. Alexandria was also left Bowie's mountain retreat in Ulster County, New York.

Marion Skene, a nanny who cared for Duncan, will also receive $US1 million, while the rock star's long-time personal assistant Corinne Schwab, or Coco, has been left $US2 million and stocks.

The will, which was prepared in 2004, was filed under Bowie's birth name, David Robert Jones, which was never legally changed by the singer who created the pop persona "Ziggy Stardust" in the early 1970s.

The document directed that Bowie be cremated, preferably in Bali "in accordance with the Buddhist rituals".

He further stated that regardless of where the cremation took place, his ashes should be scattered in Bali.

Bowie was cremated in New Jersey on January 12.

George was only 5 years old when the show took place. He will now be 18 / 19 years old. I wonder where George is now? It would be a really cool story to tell. That is, if one could actually find him.
