David, may be the socket on the motherboard the power adapter plugs into. Not good, expensive to repair.
  2. Intelligence Member

But cheaper than a new laptop?
  3. Anonymous Member

Depending on the laptop, probably not. It may involve a new motherboard and buying/installing one is not cheap. Plus you may need a new AC Adapter as well.

It's an HP G62 - 7200RPM Processor - - love it, it's fast ond only 18 months old. Can a person wear a Laptop out that fast???

I have used it about 4,000 hours? - - at least:)

I guess if I need a new one, I should get a external hard drive and transfer to it and then to new one? I really need an external anyway.

I take it your mean "hard drive" rather than "Processor"?

Yes. Download onto external ASAP. When a computer starts acting buggy you can lose data. Considering the mountain of work you do, it's possible your laptop needs to be replaced. And considering how "hot" your information is, you should back it up X2 (external and new computer)

If you move the laptop around and continuously plug/unplug and if the plug is located behind you (while the laptop is on and open) the movement may loosen the plug if you keep the laptop on your lap without proper support. I've herped derped and blown through several motherboards, AC Adapters, batteries, and laptops this way. This is why I always buy extended full-service warranties. I've gotten my money's worth on those.

    HELP/ADVICE Please:)

It looks my "Rocket-Ship" 7200-RPM Processor-HP-G62-244CA has given me an
"On Strike" notice and doesn't want to perform past the 18 month 4,000 hard use.

So this is where I am at:

    - my older XP Desktop is only for emergencies and accessing old files (don't use often - too slow and lags)
    - using a Mini HP laptop right now
    - I can use my main HP for about one hour before needing a 10-16 Hr Charge
    - won't run off charger
    - I must be able to access files on main HP - fired up at 3am this morning and emailed some files to myself,
then access with Mini. - - pulling what's left of my hair out,..., LOL

So this is what we are thinking:

My HP monel no longer exists for sale or would buy same and trasplant hard drive.

So I'm going to buy a new laptop, similar to my HPG62, with the fastest processor and as much RAM as possible installed.

Then trasfer data off my HP-G62 onto an external hard drive. Then I can access all the files from
the External from my new one and the mini?

Does this sound reasonable or good idea??? - - should I be looking at a different Laptop producer???
My HP did perform well and met my needs - - I love it:)

I'm using Window 7 and love it too - - have no time for a Lynux learning curve.

  19. Sweet Find, RightOn ^^^^^^ Those scamming, scheming, heartless, lying mofo's caught donating to themselves with money scammed from addicts and their families. I'm sure it was tax-deductible as a donation from an alleged 'NON-Profit' to the alleged 'Church' of Scammingtology.

    Good Luck, David.......

    amen!

CoS doesn't have charity status in Canada, so it shouldn't have been tax-deductible.

BERNARD, MARC & PELAND, CAROLE $5,500.00

    from the article
    Sunday, 21 March, 2010
    Narconon exposed in Quebec

"In a July 17, 2004 interview with the Journal de Trois-Rivières posted on the detoxification centre's website, the director of Narconon Trois-Rivières, Marc Bernard, described the virtues of niacin for expelling drugs from fat cells.

"The toxins remain trapped in fatty tissues for several years," Mr. Bernard explained. "When they are released, this is what addicts call flashbacks."
