This appears to be in addition to the $6k DC gave to Applied Scholastics in March 2010, different Purchase Order numbers. (see links at bottom of this post)

    Oh FFS

DC gave Applied Scholastics another $6K in 2010, different purchase order number from the other 2 purchase orders, date not given.

Awarded by "Competitive Sealed Proposal". Requestor for Applied Scholastics services was Pedro Dejesus.

    Dear __________
As a citizen and parent I am greatly concerned about the employment of the organization known as “Applied Scholastics” in the DC school system.
To begin with Applied Scholastics is in fact a “front group” for the organization known as the Church of Scientology. This is the same scientology organization that was founded by science fiction writer and convicted felon L. Ron Hubbard. In its 60 year history this organization been linked to a number of unseemly and illegal activities including the largest break in of federal offices in U.S. history; “operation snow white” where they attempted to steal or destroy records about the organization and its founder. Naturally I am concerned that the district’s children would be exposed to the teachings of an organization whose parent organization is currently under investigation by the FBI for human trafficking.
While Applied Scholastics has defended itself in the past by claiming objections to its work are “religious bigotry” I do not have any objection to the scientologists’ beliefs, merely to their criminal policies and inhumane policies.
While I understand a modern educators desperate need to find some answers to our failing school systems I would like more research to be done before any more of our precious money is spent on a system which has never produced any independently verifiable results.

    Sincerely

    Your Fake Name

Care to research a email or address people could send their complaints too. Also being how large the African American base is in the DC Government it might help to link to and provide information on the race issues of LRH and Scientology. Also that now that they have hooked up with NIO and that the NIO is listed as a hate group in the USA.

Older threads were working on a nice neat info packet to send to parents and teachers but I never saw a finished product. Anybody?

If I can get my lazy butt into gear, I was thinking of starting an Applied Scholastics LURK MOAR thread, with links to summaries of Study Tech (Chris Owen, Dr. Dave T), old WWP research threads like RightOn's Operation School Poon and Baelladonna's megathreads, and more recent dox threads like this one. Try to get overview all in one place.

No need for a situation room, like the Narconon one, where David Love is one man steamroller over Narconon with thousands of posts.

One summary thread for Applied Scholastics that links to all the main research work done by anons, that can be updated as needed.

    Does that sound OK?

    That sounds perfect.

    same here.
  14. lulz don't worry. 16k is barely any money. I've heard of Donation drives that earn 20K, and then are matched by benefacotrs. And that's just one part. 16k is barely any help in correctly running a school. And that is again cut down if they have to buy e meters. at $500 a pop that's only enough for 32 e meters. A local ORG can come up with that.

OTBT, are you working with Quebecanons? If not, I bet they'd like (just for fun) additional tonnage of dox that front groups are just that, despite what they cult says publicly. There is so much going on right now! :)
  19. OTBT Member

Mark Cabian, no, not really working with anyone at the moment. Open to any Quebecanons or others that want to pitch in.

Right now I'm just starting to try to work out the actual number of students at Applied Scholastics schools in California from 2008 to 2011.

    Here is a sample:

Applied Scholastics Academy Valley in LA has 33 students - Feb 2011

From these dox, which I need to dig through and cross reference:

California Department of Education Excel spreadsheet dated February 2011

    http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/si/ps/documents/privateschools1011.xls

    2009 / 2010 school year

    http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/si/ps/documents/privat09.xls

    2008 / 2009 school year

    http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/si/ps/documents/privat08.xls

The Applied Scholastics global locator was last updated in 2008, so its damn near impossible to track down the various names of the current Applied Scholastics - related schools, since most don't have the words "Applied Scholastics" in their school mame. Example: Delphi Academy.

Hopefully, I'll be able to make some headway on this eventually.

    Example:

(Old) In 2009, Applied Scholastics Academy of Maryland had only 3 students
