I am starting this thread to find disconnection stories for the people who are currently on the big list. The idea is to add a label "Victim of disconnection" for anyone for whom we can find a disconnection story that they are telling themselves using their full name. I plan to go through all the names that are currently on the big list and post any links I find here. I hope they will be included on the big list itself, all of them with the "Victim of disconnection" label for easy retrieval. Please note: If you have a NEW name for the list based on (1) evidence of having been in and (2) evidence of speaking out against the cult, then post in the main big list thread. I am thinking about starting a page on the wiki for stories of people who were never in and got disconnected from. After I have gone through the whole list of people currently on I will ask a mod to close this thread. Any new entries from then on can then be put in the main big list thread
First, I have taken a look at the current big list. For the following entries there is "discon" in the entry line. I have assumed there is somehow proof of a disconnection story, so I'd like it when these people get the label "Victim of disconnection" in their entry. For the record let me state that I am using scientology disconnection -"big list" -"former church members" "<name>" to hunt for stories. Without the two "minus" strings I get all kinds of links to the big list itself, which in this case is annoying.
Ok, so here are first results for A. There are not only people who actually got disconnected from, but also people who were THREATENED with disconnection. I'd say that counts as being a victim of disconnection, while it also proves that disconnection is not a thing that the parishioner can choose to do. The "A" also has a special case: Vickie Aznaran. Her declaration is proof that COS actively engages in covering up disconnection. Not sure if this justifies the "victim of disconnection" label, but we may want to add the fact in her entry. More notes: - When both MR's and others had dissocation statements from scientologists (they used to have a lot, now far less) those people coming out of the woodwork in some of the cases told they "disconnected from the church". Results as these I haven't listed for obvious reasons. Inb4 COS saying they disconnected from US! Meanies! - Despite my efforts the big list still pops up in the search results. There are quite some copies out there. - Well known blogs etc. almost all have a label "disconnection" on them which of course serves to be able to quickly go to the subject. However if a name is mentioned on a page where there is no disconnection story for that name, the website still comes up in the search. After a while I stopped checking these, so I'm quite sure I will miss stories in this first broad sweep. So be it. - My Italian, Swedish, Danish etc. etc. are quite rusty. In fact, you're providing so much context about who is disconnecting that I think it's worth having an all encompassing "Victims of Disconnection" wiki page that includes every bit of disconnection info you're gathering for everyone! Also it would be nice to have a tally in the introduction, like on the big list. I would guess you better start maintaining it when I'm done with Z. Until now while going through the big list I have also found some stories from people who were never in and got disconnected from. When I am done with Z I will start the new thread, post those and ask for it to be stickied. Then this thread can be closed and unstickied.
Hey Incred, I have a question. Can you go through the list I already found and posted in post 2 on this thread? I have excluded these people from my search sweep, so that is the reason you don't see Grace Aaron in the A. Or maybe go through it when I'm done with Z

Incred, I see you also put Vicki's link on the big list. It may be good to add to the introductory text something like: To be complete, this list also gives links to declarations, affidavits, testimonies and so on that disconnection is in fact coerced or even forced upon members by the church. This refutes the church' claim that disconnection is a personal choice for the parishioner.

She is (or was at the time) a scilon and I guess she thinks it's for the better. However scilons disconnecting always think that. It shows the closed thinking of a scilon. There already is an entry for Jason Barclay who was in a similar situation, the difference being he is now out. Should we put her on the list?
I vote no while she's still in (the story is only from 2 months ago), because that category probably contains every current Scientologist! Her dad is the victim in that story so when Tony Ortega gets his name (and he will) we can add him. Fixed, thanks
