    Cutting back on inappropriate trolling could start with mods/operators actually condemning it rather than condoning it. I have witnessed at least 5 inflammatory threads recently that were clearly started by impersonators/trolls and nothing was done by moderators other than to make idiotic replies to them that remind me of my grade 8 teacher who was good at that. This isn't soccer and "carding" people is just stupid IMHO.

    This thread is funny. Really though what's the big deal? The trolls here probably already saw their infractions as badges of honor and won't be any more or less encouraged to troll by this. And the only people who would be upset by infractions being visible are the ones that likely don't get infracted much because they try to avoid activities that would lead to infractions. So I doubt this would have much of an effect one way or the other.
