    AAAAAA++++++ would read again

but Longcat and Tacgnol preceded "lolcats" and "icanhascheezburger." In fact, what later became known as "lolcats" originated in the /b/ observance of Caturday --years before the concept was (mis)appropriated and commercialized.

    also: Important Typo Alert:
The Anonymous sites took notice of Scientology's attempt to stamp out this video from public view and considered it an attack on free speech on the Internet. On a forum in 4chan.org an anonymous poster on August (sic) 15 wrote:
    It was January of course.

I lol'ed hard at "In case of emergency, break galss."

This is really excellent and I will be referring people to it. It is a long paper and I hope you will write up a short version for us to distribute.

One thing to consider for future writing are the polls on age and religion on WWP.

    WWP Age Poll

    WWP Religion

There are biases here, but are the only data we have. I find them useful in explaining the movement.

Quick tidbit, "Scilons" possibly came from the reference to the show "BattleStar Galactica" For how "Skin Jobs" infiltrate and sabotage things. More random fact than essential.

Fantastic work Jeff! thks for the Creative Commons release, i wish more people would do that so that more written works would go viral sooner. when submitting it to digg i noticed it had already been partially republished on a recap/scraper blog.

digg link coming soonly... they went offline for updates shortly after i got it submitted and i didnt grab the url beforehand.

    very nice job Jeff...

(and just ignore the tl;dr comments...not all communication should be done in 1-second sound bites, no matter how much some may wish it could!)

There are a hundred more from that first couple weeks. But there was tons of coverage. Yes lots of it was on Gawker, but a lot of the Gawker stuff was being picked up by other news organizations and reported on. Lots of blogs and other sites were reporting on the fight as well.

We had sites with hundreds of thousands of viewers linking to and embedding the video. We had news broadcasts only a couple days afterword showing the video. It got great coverage.

I am not attacking you, love the writeup, just saying that part was slightly misleading.

This looks like a pop-corn session. Will try to read some time later on. Looks like you spent a great deal of time writing it up.

AWesome - best couple hours reading I've had in ages. Nice work but I second the copypasta request. I know a few agencies that might be interested in this.
