Omaha/ Nebraska in general Hello comrades. i would like to start a raid on either the Winsborough Baptist Church or the Cult of Scientology. i am fully aware now of the evils of this organization. i will not go into details but someone I know has had their life ruined by this cult. i want to start something in Nebraska Omaha area. If you are in the area please respond i want to help I want to make a difference.
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general i was wondering if anyone wanted to do flyer handout in fremont or something to that effect
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general Most people know of it as the WESTBORO Baptist Church. You can make a difference by knowing the name of who you want to protest.
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general ok thats all fine and dandy. my spelling may not be were i want it to be. but my intentions are.
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general back to the original point. would anyone be interested in going around Fremont or Omaha and giving out flyers
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general There hasn't been a great deal of activity in Nebraska but every so often some Nebraskanon posts a similar thread, looking to organize with others. No doubt the cult has some tendrils poking around Omaha and Lincoln that require attention. Maybe try the search function, using terms like Nebraska, Omaha, Tilden (lol Tilden), etc., checking to see if any of those other Nebraskanons are still posting here. Good luck! As for the Westy's, trolling them can be a lulzy diversion from time to time but in the end it's pretty much just trolls trolling trolls. They only win when they're taken seriously.
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general WELL I WOULD ENCOURGE YOU TO HAND OUT FLYERS IN YOUR LOCAL AREA AND SUCH FLYER SHOULD HAVE THIS WEBSITE ON IT SO THEY CAN REGISTER AND ANSWER YOUR POST QUESTION... I MEAN IT SOUNDS LOGICAL, RIGHT?... I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU FOCUS ON INFORMING AND ENCOURAGING (FRIENDS & FAMILY, OF COURSE) LOCALS OR PEOPLE FROM SURROUNDING AREAS UNTIL THEIR IS A PRETTY DEDICATED CELL TO RAISE AWARENESS. CONTINUE POSTING AND ASKING.... SURE, THERE MIGHT BE SOME NEBRASKANONS THAT MIGHT BE LURKING BUT IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU INFORM NEW ANONS, FOR THEY ARE NOT WEARY AND MIGHT SUPPORT THE CAUSE IN WHATEVER WAY. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.
Re: Omaha/ Nebraska in general I'm another Nebraskanon, and I know of quite a few people from my hometown that would be down for a legit protest. I think it should probably be a larger city like Grand Island, or Lincoln, or Omaha. Can we make this happen???
I see that this thread is long dead, but it is the only thing I have been able to find when searching "social activism" in Omaha. I'm sorry, I don't want to protest Scientology or Westboro; they aren't where the problem is, but symptoms and diversions. I would, however, very much like to address the issues of illegal immigration (and the human right's violations that come with it), the awful struggle of organic farmers against big Ag and government, the overbearingly conservative views on women/religion/contraceptives/abortion, the blatant racial segregation in the city, the TEA PARTY in general and everything they stand for, the LGBT struggle, the homelessness that is ignored, the police brutality, the struggle of mentally/physically broken veterans returning from overseas to sorry-nothing-left-here-for-you attitude from the government that made them soldiers to start with... God, guys. Name it, really. I'm tired of watching, tired of being passively angry all the time, tired of doing tiny volunteer jobs that don't ever seem to help or change anything. I want something real, something that says "Just because we live in the middle doesn't mean we don't count". I shouldn't have to leave my state to make a difference in it. The coastlines are poppin' all the time with protests and rally's. Why shouldn't the rest of the country too? Not all of us who live in Nebraska are super conservative throwbacks with poorly formed social views. There are a LOT of us who are willing to make statements/activate. Gimme something, Anonymous. I fully support what you do and would do more if I knew how. You are my modern day Robin Hood.
you want to fight human rights abuses among other things. That sis a good thing. That is why I fight Scientology. It is rife with abuses in a myriad of ways. Not everyone can or wants to fight the same thing as another. And don't ever think the tiny volunteer jobs you do does not make a difference. IT DOES.
I no I'm very late in this issue but I am with you I'm tired of our right being violated and the Americans working our a$$ off just to barely pay the bills and barely putting food on the table and them getting every thing its getting to where my geration will never see retirement due the border hoppers we need a difference and we need it now b4 it too late
Nope. You're 5+ years late, sweetheart. Nothing is happening. No protest. You may discuss a topic and ideas.
I'm new to the board but want to make an effort for change in Nebraska. If anyone wants to get things rolling give me a shout out!
It will work best if you start a discussion about what you think could be done and why, it's easier to get others talking that way than open ended questions.
I have watched the zeitgeist movement, cowspiracy, have read up on Scientology. I'm sick of the injustice, selfishness and lack of control in our way of life. I'm not satisfied with sitting on my ass waiting to see if things ever change or improve! I want the children I raise to have a life they can make the most of. I also want to enjoy the life I know we can achieve rather than just dreaming about it! I really hoped Obama would be able to start making some changes like he promised. But our government made it obvious that no matter who is elected, the 1% who have all the money will continue running this world with the main goal of getting more money and power for them selves. I'm hoping by finding like minded people on here we can do more than dream and talk about doing something to improve everyone's way of life!
Omaha-Area Anon. I am really hoping to gather steam here in this area. Omaha has been home to me for most of my life, and i typically love it. However, I have seen lately that "Midwestern ideals" only matter if its free. I was recently fired from my job for helping the homeless. I will continue to do so and will soon be organizing a fun little event to bring even more awareness. If any of you are down, respond to this and we will get something set up.
