I know that I'm going to catch some flack for this but Cruz is in my opinion. The only real viable alternative.

They are both monsters. The Donald is a con artist without much intelligence. His policies are what sounds cool to him on any given day. He has human warmth at least.
Ted Cruz is a soulless and smart. He has actual beliefs, he is intensely disliked by the people he will work closely with.

I hate to break it to you, broseph. But Ted TeaParty Cruz is at the top of the heap because the Koch machine put him there. Those guys are ideologues. They firmly believe that government is bad and corporations are awesome. They are on record as wanting to turn over our civic infrastructure to business people, including Medicaid, Medicare, National Parks, the FBI, the EPA, etc.

From where I sit, a world with a much weaker Federal government means there will be rules. But only poor people will be required to follow them.

Trump is an embarrassing attention whore. But most of his political life he's been a moderate. He's okay with the idea that women can decide whether to have an abortion or not (even though he was touched by Jesus and saw the light last Thursday). He doesn't sound like an anti-government libertarian nutter. And most importantly, he wants to be popular and successful. So it isn't likely that he's going to hit us with a fascist coup. He'll just shake up the Republican party, which is not a bad thing. But the Republicans, having become an ossified cult, will be freaking out about the change in music. So we will get a bunch of crazy ass paranoia about Trump destroying the nation and that will be hard to take.

Anyway I plan to hold my nose and vote for a Democrat this time.

I can not and will not vote for Hillary nor Bernie. I'm going to sit it out if Donald is the nomine.

When Donald Trump enjoyed a number of wins on Super Tuesday earlier this week, it seems that a number of Americans began considering a rather drastic option: moving to Canada.
Google searches for advice on this costly yet somewhat understandable venture spiked dramatically after Trump's victories.

He will never be president and he is nothing more than a huge distraction.
I think there are outside participants who are in cahoots to make his idiotic rallies appear more volatile and outrageous so they can publicly put the final nail in his kooky campaign coffin. AS PLANNED.
The only thing his campaign has accomplished is to separate people even more in the US and to make other countries laugh even harder at the US and again to DISTRACT.
I have to wonder if this huge distraction is because of Korea? hmmmm?
At least his campaign has helped to shine a light on some really raciest yahoos attending his rallies though, so kudos for that. (if in fact they are not hired hands)

I remember back when the media said Obama was a communist Muslim on one side, and the greatest hope for humanity on the other, when in reality he was just George bush 2. I have since started taking everything they say with a grain of salt.

Here is my tinfoil conspiracy. It follows Occam's razor a little: Trump knows the media, and he knows people. He has been using the left's and the media's bias against them, as well as the partisan divides of the last 8 years, and it is working flawlessly.

Trump ran in 2012 as a joke, a means to hype himself up and win a few contracts like what Ross Perot did back in the early 90s. Only he realized that he was actually popular. This time around, he sees the weak sauce, mentally deficient stooges that are in politics now, and concludes that he can beat them.

So he creates a populist narrative based around the economy. It works, flawlessly. Even NPR hypes trump up, and they do not realize it. They will go on a 5 minute spiel about how trump is a racist bigot, followed by news of some company closing down a factory and outsourcing the jobs to mexico. First it was the Oreo lines in Chicago, then it was the carrier plant. Then you have the Disney H1b visa stuff. Its hard to dismiss the guy, when his critics inadvertently prove his point, and are completely oblivious to this.

The thing people do not get, especially the media, is that politics do not exist in a vacuum.Trump knows this. He knows this from TV. He was on tv for years, even made guest appearances on wrestling. When he anticipated ratings would dip on the apprentice, he would do episodes that would bring in the viewers. The "Star Wars Sells" episode got me, it was simple, and it was disturbing how a Darth Vader cardboard cutout can some how increase sales of stupid shit products.

But the guy knows people, and he knows media, a dangerous combination for a candidate.

So when he said "we need a Muslim pause", he was taking a calculated gamble. One that paid off. Last super Tuesday, that weekend before, a Muslim nanny in Russia walked down the street with the severed head of a 4 year old. Talk about the type of shock news that the media will play up, right into his hands. Sure it was an isolated incident, but it made his "crazy" Muslim pause sound a little less crazy.

So now we are up to another super Tuesday, and this weekend we had A Trump rally interrupted in Ohio, and Chicago, and terror attacks in Turkey and in Africa.

Meanwhile, none of the other republican candidates have brought anything to the table to counter trump. They have not countered his policies, they have not dispelled his claims, they have simply behaved like politicians that have towed the party lines, had the right connections, and pretty much had success handed to them. They can't really counter him either, because to do so, to say he is wrong, would undo 8 years of heavy handed political rhetoric. Rhetoric that today's republican party has built itself on.

That is the nasty bit. Right now, the fight is between republicans. Those are the votes that matter to trump. Any opponent who disagrees with trump, will be going against the shit that they have said over the last 8 years, the deadlocks they caused, the stupid bills that failed, the filibusters and the crazy speeches. For them to call trump out, they have to admit that they where liars, and that their partisan crap was nonsense.

They will not do this. They will support the asshole before they do this.

The scary bit, the true and utter scary bit, is only global improvement will stop trump. That there will not be a terror attack in Europe over the next few months, and that the economy will improve this is the only way to stop him.

The Republican party brought this one on themselves.

I get a lot of schadenfreude out of this election. A lot of chickens are coming home to roost. The best part, is if trump does win the nomination, it will open the flood gates for more rich people run. So the career politicians are very worried right now.

Keep in mind, Trump has spent far less on his campaign then any of the other candidates, and he is getting a lot more success.

The sad part though, is that trump is just as much a creation of the left and the media as he is a creation of the republicans.the economy is not healthy, but no one wants to admit to this. They have given Trump free reign on the topic, and it will bite them in the ass come November.

Keep in mind a lot of the wto protesters where left leaning individuals, and These guys buy into trump more then any other candidate. Those guys hate tpp, as do the net neutrality people. So if it becomes a Trump vs Clinton, Trump will probably win. If it is Trump vs sanders, Sanders will have to work extra hard to get the voter turnout, but i do not see him picking up any red states, the way obama did in the past.

Its going to be a crazy year.
