I am tired of being a member of NATO (No Action Talk Only)
We need results and we need them asap.
Whether we like the political system or not, it is a way to get what we want if get get creative enough to harness the power we collectively hold.

Colbert was right in his speech to RSA
The American ppl did elect the assholes that are doing this to us.
If we could get pledges from pp in key areas to vote for the candidate that supported our ideas, we could be the king makers.
That takes a lot coordination. However it is not setting up a "New Political Party"
It is harnessing the people we have to obtain the outcome we all need.

So getting people to pledge votes and we in turn get pledges from the candidates like that BS No Tax Pledge

It's a good idea and I have no idea how to start. Your thoughts? If you get emails and/ or names the emails go to that's a good start. I agree 'New Political Party!!' Isn't helpful. You know people in community action?

    ( other than the Obamas)

I know more political hit-man types than people with TB (True Believerism)
Let me check around. I may know a guy who got disillusioned with the whole process a while back.
I'll let everyone know what I come up with

I do know this, mostly from looking into running recently, you either have money to buy the votes or you have a cause hat attracts the votes.
If at all possible keeping out of the money crap is the purest way to go.

The Day We Fight Back effort showed 186000 emails. Not sure how many were duplicates from multiple accounts or even in the US, but that may be a good place to start.
When you look at the Million Mask March (yeah I know) but if someone is willing to go out and march, surely to hell they would vote.

If we could gather those groups up and agree on 2-3 specific items we want candidates to pledge to do, we have something.

It would have to be a party free issue only campaign. Regardless of the party whoever agrees to push our issues gets the votes.
That is the only way it would work.
That is a tall order, but if we want change solidarity is the only way to beat the system.

Have a sight set up where registered voters agree (pledge) to vote for the candidates who will
i.e. End Bulk Collection of Data
That would be it. Nothing else or the chance of a collective effort falls apart

Concentrate on that issue, find out who running will support it.
Have a map where ppl register to show the candidates where out votes are located (that is important)
We have to show the candidates we are serious and where we are, otherwise they will ignore us

Code Pink and others could join the fray.

If we combined all the different groups out there behind a single issue vote, we could make a difference

We start The Collective to End Bulk Collection....or come up with a better name, which would be best case
This has to be viewed as a marathon, not a one time fix for ALL problems in life.

Each National Election we collect votes, not money, and pound the hell out of them over time.
If any candidate goes back on their word "WE DO NOT FORGIVE, WE DO NOT FORGET"

We can turn the whole game on its ear if we are united

We don't have to reinvent the wheel-- if ending bulk data collection is the one issue, it seems like there are already orgs out there like EFF that would be good to reach out to up front.

You're right. Stop Watching Me, The Day We Fight Back, etc
EFF has the legal angle down. The rest are involved for all the right reasons.
Bringing them all together would be great.

Also targeting the Diane Feinstein's and Mike Rogers of the world is going to be vital. Hell I would be willing to move to Michigan just to vote against his dumb ass.

    Call the effort
    "BROKE-PAK"
    No Money-Nothing but votes

Mr & Ms Candidate, we will not be bought by ads, nor will we try to buy you with money.
We will vote for our issues, if you pledge to back us.

  14. Kinda like a giant "BROKE-PAK MOUNTAIN" :p

Just because a candidate wouldn't want to be publicly associated with anon (yet) doesn't mean they don't hold the same values. I'm guessing this thread is focusing on the US political situation. If anon keeps growing as it seems to be now they may want to be associated with anon in the future. Anyways, finding people who believe in, support, and willing to enforce the constitution is the main thing since a lot of the issues we protest are in violation of it. Not just the parts that their political party chooses. And won't use religious books to form laws.

Start at city levels. Then state levels. Then federal levels. We watch the city officials closely. Make sure they are consistent and not being bought off by lobbyists. If they prove worthy, we vote them to state levels ect ect. We can still protest until we get leadership that does the right thing because it's the right thing to do. Get the word out on good candidates in our local areas. Try and gain local funding for their campaigns. The candidates we're looking for won't take corrupt lobbyist money so they'd need our help. We have the internet and the Independent party available for exposure and lawful registration. But people need to get out an vote. It's not a government for the people, it's a government for the people that participate.

According to the numbers I've found:
316+ million people in the United States
    25% children = 79 million
    316 minus 79 = 237 million people
    169 million registered voters
    237 minus 169 = 68 million unregistered voters
169 million registered voters, 86 million democrats, 55 million republicans, 28 million undecided.
    68 plus 28 = 96 million voters
There's a lot of evidence that democrat and republican voters are looking for a different option
In recent elections voter turn out was between 50-60% (presidential)

These numbers don't have anything to do with city or state elections but I got curious, looked em up and decided to post the info anyways. :p

  17. there will be a time when we all must unite. ie..1,000,000 of us not buying gas for a week....then spread further
  18. And how about we elect a president who isnt in the back pocket of a oil baron or wallstreet investor but instead a normal joe who cares about tradtion and there fellow man

We know the door is there, all we need to do is find the key.
  20. He is right, there are a many people who only trust what they here from politics, in the US I would recommend a lot of people start running on the local levels. Social media is free and I think there are a lot more believers of these basic (but important and suppressed) belief in human rights. 2016 is coming soon... maybe a lot more people not only voting but flood the elections local, city, state, county etc with independent and 3rd party candidates.

A quote I've always heard is "never get into a shiting contest against a person with more ink" ... well they weren't around during a time of huge social networking across the globe... take the quote as you may.

I totally agree with this, but I don't think it's possible. He'll get killed in no-time, because they don't need people telling the truth or actually caring about their citizens.

Good stuff! Politics and Banks need to change.

I heard this from a documentary and it really stuck to me:
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks…will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered…. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. – Thomas Jefferson in the debate over the Re-charter of the Bank Bill (1809)" - http://www.themoneymasters.com/the-money-masters/famous-quotations-on-banking

The source of these problems was already know way back.
We need to remind ourselves of what happened in history.
