This week, WBC members descended upon College Station, Texas, and began protesting on the campus of Texas A&M University. But shortly after they arrived, it became clear that the sign-wielding demonstrators had vastly underestimated their opponent.

You see, Texas A&M is the home of the original 12th Man cheering section, which boasts the most fervent fan base in college football. So the Aggies know a thing or two about organized loudness. And when confronted with the WBC members, the students were determined to drown out the protesters’ divisive, hateful messages.

First, about 100 students – many with signs of their own – gathered near the small group of protesters and proceeded to shout down the demonstrators with “messages of love.” A short distance away, dozens more Aggies gathered for a spur-of-the-moment “Yell Practice.”

Needless to say, the attention in the area was focused primarily on the activities of the students and not the protesters.

The ironic part of this story is that the Westboro Baptist Church should have known about the reception they were going to receive at Texas A&M.

Back in 2012, the WBC announced plans to protest the funeral of a U.S. Army soldier who was a Texas A&M alum. Current and former Aggies sprang into action and formed a 650-person human wall between the funeral and the planned protest. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the demonstrators never showed.

I've come to realize that you're not the real anonymous because the real anonymous wouldn't be this immature and stupid.

I think not. Just seems if you guys were anonymous, you're nothing more than shadows of it. All talk and no substance. Just mouthy remarks and acting all smart. I don't find any of it impressive. In fact I'm deeply disappointed.

Even how immature the mods are for aging on infractions from the other members if not encouraging it. But hey, if thats how you want to play it, go right ahead. Its just another way of a group like anonymous deluding to the point where no one will no longer support it or keep feeding it.
